Watched some old footage of Neon Leon this week. It brought a tear to my eye. He's only 38, give him a preseason to get fit and he'll fill the hole left by Stephenson!

I'm still spewing we didn't give him one more year.
Glad I wasn't around Nicks back when Leon was the whipping boy -- geez we had some passengers more deserving to be whipped back in those days! |

What was it we offered Leon to play on for a year? $100,000. An absolute joke. No wonder he told Bucks to stick it where the sun don't shine. Actually when you think about it Buckley is responsible for some pretty horrific personnel decisions in his time at this club, e.g. Heath Shaw, Ben Johnson, the re-recruitment of Dayne Beams etc. But the way they shafted Neon Leon still makes my blood boil. Sorry I'm not normally so bitter, but at Collingwood we have a terrible record with indigenous players. No wonder most indigenous players don't choose to come to Collingwood. And it's hurting us BIG TIME. |
