OOOr we give Roughhead a spell and shuffle Reid down there. I don't want to say Carlton are a pushover but if there was ever a chance to mix things up its next week. I'll be hoping to see us manage a few players.
Called Stevo to have a big game and he was on record breaking form in the first - one of these days he is going to break a game wide open.

Anyone else notice ?

Adam Treloar starts slowly (few disposals) in most games but storms home, magnificently. Smile

Tonight. 8 disposals to half time. 27 in the second half.

Cox and Aish come in for Adams and whoever needs a rest. Thomas maybe needs to regain some touch in the ressies.

I thought Roughead was good tonight.

There is no way Cox replaces either Mihocek or Reid.
If they're not going to go tall, too bad for Cox. He hasn't been outstanding this year.

First quarter was insanely good. We hit Port hard and they were simply shell shocked and had no answers. After that I knew we would rack the cue, we always do and we let them back into the game a little bit. It was somewhat frustrating as you think we might be in for a huge win but we usually don't go on with it. Port did raise their game to be fair, but we certainly popped the champers a bit there.

In the end the game just played out to a cruisey win, never looked like losing, never looked like winning by anymore than we did. It does feel like the team isn't all that interested in margins but just to win with minimal effort. We do look to put teams away early then rest on that. The better sides will make us pay like Essendon nearly did, like the Eagles did and also the Cats made us pay for our messy i50's in the 1st half. It is great that we are getting a crap load of shots on goal, that is a big positive. We were also poor with our goal kicking accuracy through a lot of 2010 as well then managed to tidy it up, hoping 2019 will be the same.

Great win overall, we were the dominant side, we knew it and they knew it too.

Yes, I noticed that too. He is in my FT as captain, I was worried at HT.

Clearly along with Pendles, one of the reasons we were able to keep Power out in the 2nd half.

Excellent win but as I said last week; wasteful, shithouse set shot goal kicking that we can't afford. Against any opposition. Saw Peter Mc in the crowd; should employ him to educate these punks!!! DoGoey worst offender pisses me right off!!! They bust the guts to give it to him and he stuffs it far too often. Tonight's contest could've been over at quarter time if not for these wasted opportunities.

First quarter was just an astonishing display. It reminded me of the Geelong 2010 Preliminary Final. It was a frenetic unleashing of energy and talent. The second quarter was to be expected. PA are not a poor team. It was absolutely inevitable that they would resist the onslaught. We did I think give them too many opportunities, and allowed them to apply significant pressure on the scoreboard. I thought our 3rd Quarter was equally magnificent to the first, in a totally different way. PA opened with the first goal, and it looked like they were going to sustain their momentum. They reached a margin of only 18 points, down from 45 points, and were adrenalized. But we rose to the occasion. Our midfield (Treloar in particular) answered the challenge. In the second half of the third quarter, we ruthlessly put their challenge to the sword. It was a dominant display. We were always at the contest; and our aerial supremacy smothered them. That 3rd quarter to me is the sign of a team that is going places.
I am rapt with this game. Our opponents seized the momentum, but we held them off and seized it back, in devastating fashion. Great win. Best so far this year.

In assessing how the team actually played after quarter-time - as distinct from what happened to our lead, it is worth noting that we had 25% more scoring shots than Port in the final 3 quarters - 8.12 to 10.6. If we'd kicked, say, 12.8 and they'd kicked, say, 9.7, we'd be looking at a more than ten-goal win. Really, if the goal-kicking accuracy reaches even a pass-standard, the lineup could be unstoppable.
