While I'm always happy to see new kids play, I'm not sure I support him jumping the queue ahead of players who have been on the verge of selection for weeks and have well and truly earned their chance to get back in the team. I don't mind if Quaynor comes in for someone else who needs a break, but Appleby is a natural replacement for Aish and should be selected. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Quaynor needs time to develop in the VFL. He will be a good footballer, but may not play a senior game this year. Appleby, has been our best player in the VFL for a couple of weeks and has been mentioned as such by Bucks. He also has senior experience, so will not be overawed by the big occasion on Thursday.
If Aish is out, then Appleby will be in. |

Yes, Appleby is a much more realistic selection than IQ and of a similar type. |

I like Appleby except he's a dodgy kick....bad action and his kicks are slow through the air. He needs to fix that if he wants an AFL career. |
110% correct. How anybody can see him as best 22 is staggering. _________________ I love the Pies, hate Carlscum |

I’m only guessing here but I would have thought part of Appleby being the best performed VFL player in last three weeks ( practice game included ) would include disposing of and using the ball pretty well in those games.
Some are talking as though a bloke can’t improve from one pre season to the next. |

How unlikely would this be?
Broomhead.
Might lift the team with his comeback after that horrible leg break. He was good in today's VFL match. Grundy would love it!
Just a thought in the direct moments after the narrow VFL loss. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

If Aish does miss, looking likely to be Greenwood with Daicos or Quaynor an outside chance.
Not ideal with the Bomber's pace, Appleby would have been better if he hadn't hurt his ankle.
We need some pace and attack off our half back line, so hoping Quaynor makes an impact this year. Murray has been a decent sized loss there. _________________ Well done boys! |

Does Aish come in for Adams? Does Wills get a look? Or does Cox come back in?
I think Cox can be given a second week to rest the ankle. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

If the club is looking for a like for like replacement for Adams i.e. an inside ball winning midfielder, then I guess that Wills fits that bill. But Aish is also capable of playing that role and in my opinion is a better option.
Sure, he is not as big as Wills but he is an AFL standard player and will win the ball as often as Wills but will use it far better. _________________ Side by side. |
