It suggests AFL clubs are not currently interested, but it does not give Richmond a better hand if suddenly clubs do become interested.

What is the standard of the VFL compared with the WAFL?

^^^^
yes what is the avenue he is exploring.
does he or has he been given advise that he will be playing in a completion where he has a better chance to play AFL in. Or has Richmond indicated a better deal than the two W.A clubs did/didnt.

Well, if the last few State games are anything to go by, I'd say the WAFL is the second best competition in the country.

2018
WAFL 15.12 defeated SANFL 11.10 @ Adelaide Oval

2017
WAFL 20.14 defeated VFL 10.11 @ North Port Oval

The VFL side hasn't beaten the WAFL side since 2010.

After watching a few Collingwood VFL games on youtube this year and attending quite a few WAFL matches also, I'd have to agree with the stats. The WAFL is a superior competition to the VFL.

Will be interesting next year, as the WCE will have a stand alone team in the WAFL competition.

^But the VFL rep team excludes those on AFL lists doesn't it, greatly diluting the talent?

Same criteria for all states.

One of my nephews plays in the WAFL reserves, and, to be honest, that grade is comparable to the VFL games I've watched.

Well that's just fu*king depressing.
How do they manage to not see that he'd be more useful with us the some of the recruits we picked up. He knows our guys & our system, & he's a very strong kid, great overhead, & with leadership skills. This is just another of our dumb moves, we seem to pull out 1 or 6 each year. Dropping Smith & not looking at Marty & Tom in the twos gets close to being as dumb or dumber.

Perhaps he had no intention of signing with us 35. It's not like he didn't just walk out on us because he hated how the place treated him. Oh wait.

Didn't he have a personality clash with Brent McCaffer (our welfare officer)?

Mental issues, cant kick, injury prone & walked out on the club.

Yet some are desperate to see him back? He may one day play AFL and for his sake I hope so but this is just a logical decision by the club.

COULD a forgotten ex-Pie provide a stop-gap for an AFL club as a key defender?

As three clubs North Melbourne, St Kilda and Sydney prepare to enter 2019 with reduced defensive stocks, former Collingwood backman Jonathon Marsh has emerged as a potential target.
