Agree that Beams improves us and we have a lot of improvement internally but I think plenty of contenders bar West Coast have improved their list and they have Gaff and Nic Nat to come in. Syd went backwards as did GWS but Melbourne, Richmond, Sqwarks all improved their lists!
I wont be expecting anything next season. I fear it will be very even. _________________ The match day thread is for unfiltered BS knee jerk reactions. The time for level headed comment comes after. |

Is the 666 rule from the Book of Revelation or will it be Siers new number? Must ask Scott Morrison. _________________ âI even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didnât keep âem under long enoughâ Kinky Friedman |

What did poor Mr Sier do to deserve that?
Maybe it should be S. Hocking's number. |

Make no mistake, the only thing stopping us from top 4 is injuries. _________________ - Side By Side - |

Wonder what that new rule induce bulking up an all ready great midfield
|
First thing the 666 rule does is prevents teams playing a lose man down back at centre bounces.
That means the team that wins the centre clearance can bang it long into the forward line knowing it's one on one.
This brings several things into play.
1. KP forwards who can either take a contested pack mark or lead strongly at the ball carrier
2. Midfielders who can win centre clearances and hit targets going forward
3. Tall KP backs who can spoil or take contested intercept marks.
We now have all three ingredients
It will be very interesting to see how contrasting game styles work with the rule changes. Teams who rely on possessing the ball with clinical disposal will need to be able to defend from centre clearances in order to win possession and do their thing.
Teams who rely on fast breaks from the centre could pour on multiple goals quickly. The game could turn into a basketball style shootout.
It will mean centre bounce strategy will become very important, and we're well placed to exploit that. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

^ Well, there isn't anything stopping them from having the wingman right on the defensive corner of the square, facing towards defence and running into defensive 50 the instant the ball leaves the umpire's hands. |

The 66-6 was discussed by Eddie and Chris Scott and what was made clearer to me was 6-6-6 does not feature the entire game
At centre bounces only apparently-i.e the centre bounce to commence a quarter and after each goal is kicked and ball goes back for centre bounce

For one thing Lady Luck needs to walk the passage ways of Holden Centre
No season ending injuries even before round one and no freakish ones like
running into a goal post and snapping ya leg
Double hammies are not allowed and definitely no corkies requiring surgery _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |
