Yes, couple of years ago our game vs Sydney round 1 (the one where Swanny broke his foot) was switched like a week before it was tobe played. Went from Olympic park ANZ stadium to the SCG.

I hope not. Footy is better during the day.

Nothing like traditional Saturday afternoon footy between two big Vic clubs.

^ Alas, you were born too late. Six or seven games, all lined up neatly at 2.10pm Sat. arvo...

Except for those who actually play, umpire or are involved in running local football clubs

Just wondering how they managed when there were six games every Saturday afternoon.

^ I always thought local leagues avoided that timeslot (for that reason). Is that not the case?

Maybe they used to, I don't know was long before my time!

These days all senior football competitions at local level around Melbourne run their games on Saturday afternoons

Junior footy is played on Sundays.
Most other comps - Amateurs, country leagues, local metro leagues - play on Saturdays.

It is only recently that some country leagues like the GVFL have Saturday night/twilight games as a few grounds now have lights suitable for games.

From a selfish standpoint I hope they don't move it because it's currently scheduled to be aired live in the UK at 4:30am. If they move the game I'd imagine we would no longer have it screened live.
