Does Darcy Moore want to go to Sydney, or elsewhere for that matter.?

The report that he is dissatisfied with the management of his injuries would suggest so. Since his manager has said that money will not be decisive, given the spread of interest, one would think the player will make the decision to open the door. If he does want to leave, and the injury story may be an ill advised explanation for that inclination, then should we hold on?

I thought Ed opened the negotiation when he said 15 first round draft picks would do it. Forget the number that is just an opening gambit.

Maybe a wish to leave, possibly for a change of scene to Sydney, not unknown among AFL players, is the key driver. Should you go in hard against such sentiment?

As for Darcy's playing potential I think Sydney are backing themselves to convert that. My observation is that his best moments so far have tended to come from very good play ahead of him. Perhaps he doesn't want to be Ben Reid's replacement in defence.

Choosing between him and De Goey if necessary would be a mighty difficult decision. Although very different players, it used to always rankle with me to watch Paul Williams play for the Swans for such a long time.

I hope Darcy stays, but if he goes it will be his choice and while it will be dissapointing that is how it goes these days. You win some you lose some. Darcpy could turn out to be amazing or he may not. I hope he stays with us and reaches his full potential.

Indeed. A lot of people have packed his bags and said goodbye based on very little!

Based on what I've seen of him... wouldn't be too much of a loss. Maybe he'd perform better somewhere else? I dunno but ATM I don't rate him.

While it may well be pure rumour and speculation, however, if the issue was Moore or De Goey it has become more difficult today, to say the least.

Id be putting my energy into retaining Darcy before pursuing Tom Lynch. Darcy could play various roles for us. Lynch is a tall forward only. And not a very good one at the moment. Certainly not worth losing quality players for due to salary cap issues.
