Melbourne's biggest win against Carlton in their history, surpassing the previous record of 105 points in 2004.

Carlton's equal 6th biggest loss in their history.

Melbourne's 8th biggest win in their history.

TankingCarlton

Quote:
Loving the effort and the message we’re sending that we’re not going to be pushed around. Dees would’ve been expecting an easy day out and it’s important we push them at every opportunity.

This post aged well Laughing

Quote:
The Bad Carlton has turned up today. Worst skills going around. Poor decisions, wrong options, no run.....you name it were doing it, or not doing it.....game over now.

Quote:
Wtf.......terrible. Sick of our crap.

Quote:
lol

bush league blues today

Quote:
Pathetic

Quote:
When the team includes Mulkett, O’Shea, Kerridge, Graham, Garlett you know you’re in trouble.

Quote:
Embarrassing defencive structures

Quote:
You know you have hit rock bottom when spuds like Melksham kick 4 against you in just over a half....

Quote:
That's it. They've thrown in the towel.
I can't watch any more.

Quote:
Looks like we have given up. Weak effort.

Quote:
This is one of those gutting soul destroying losses that completely erases last week's gains. This actually sets you back ages, in all areas. Pathetic rabble. So many dry weather types.

Quote:
@#$%&! I'm glad I stayed home

Quote:
This is as bad as it gets. Bolts spray had a massive impact.....in the opposite direction. We've gone from rabble to non existent. We deserve all the crap were going to get all week. Injuries etc are no excuse for this gutless annountable effort.

Hang your collective heads in shame Carlton Football Club.

BigFooty (Carlton):

Quote:
100 point+ shellacking was always on the cards at some point this year.

Quote:
Sweet ******* jesus.
I'm off to get some dumplings, and lots of them.

Quote:
Our biggest ever loss to them. What positives?

Quote:
Look at that last centre bounce clearance, three loose defenders and no forward in sight. Our structure and work rate is a mess.

Quote:
No Curnows, no Carlton

Quote:
Look I might be mistaken but I think we will make changes after this game.

Quote:
Well we own the biggest pantsing in the comp this year

Quote:
No talk green shoots. Time to stop babying them and giving too many excuses, we were horrendous from coaching to players on the field to players laughing in the stands.

Quote:
Nothing positive today. Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Quote:
Biggest loss under Bolts.

Quote:
Geez today is so unacceptable. Gutted

Quote:
What self respecting free agent comes to us next year?

Quote:
Well that was atrocious. The only positive was that it ended. How does the club put any type of positive spin on this???

Quote:
So... Do people still think that we shouldn't be getting a priority pick?

Haven't you had enough priority picks already? Wink

Quote:
Serious serious questions about Bolton's coaching ability.

Quote:
Did well to keep the Dees to just 25 goals for the game

Quote:
effort and organisation were a mess.

very little leadership and talk. shit skills.

just give us effort

Quote:
Shameful result. Going to brood

Quote:
Umpires cost us.....

At least he has a sense of humour Laughing

Quote:
Just wasn't expecting that, despite the difference in best 22 injured.

Quote:
that was a bitch slap... something that Bolton has avoided so far...

Quote:
It’s hard to stomach just how awful we are.

This season has only made me think even worse of our situation. We are years off being good. Our players do not have the size and skills to beat teams on a consistent basis. Just flat out depressing.

Quote:
And to be 3 points down at 1/4 time with a real sniff makes it that much harder. No excuse

Quote:
Well look at the positives.. We beat Essendon, Essendon beat Geelong which means we should beat Geelong right??

Right???

Quote:
Cut and paste comments from rounds 1-7 here

Quote:
If this shellacking wasn’t bad enough, what scares me more is that I’ll look at the teams on Thursday and see that O’Shea gets picked yet again.

Quote:
OUCH Sad That really really hurt watching that.

Quote:
Sweet ******* jesus.
I’m off to get some heroin, and lots of it.

Quote:
We’ve got the Cats next week down there. I’m seriously concerned it could get Richmond or Melbourne down there a few years ago bad. They will be fired up after a bad loss.

Hopefully we can get some talent back in. Some absolute hacks out there today.

Quote:
Percentage may be important for last place come seasons end so for mine today we were playing for a percentage lowered!

Tanking again Razz

Quote:
Future looks grim after losses like this. We are honestly 3 years away from even producing competitive football week in week out let alone consistently winning games. This won't explode like we hope.

I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel and I'm usually realistic

Quote:
That went well

Quote:
In 45 years of supporting this club I would say we’ve hit the bottom.

We are irrelevant and just about on the brink of extinction.

“We don’t get too low after a loss” apparently. Well you should friggin try it so you can feel how the supporters do.

There are no “green shoots” just brown skid marks.

Quote:
We got beat by 106 points in 3 quarters.

That means we were outscored almost 6 goals per quarter for those of you playing at home.

Let that sink in.

Injuries certainly didn't help, but it's no excuse for that garbage. If we're supposed to believe we're going somewhere that makes it incredibly hard to do so.

Quote:
Watching that was worse than the migraine I had yesterday

Quote:
Geelong next week after losing to essendon?

120 points coming

Quote:
10 more minutes and we woulda had em....!

Another one with a sense of humour Laughing

Quote:
It takes the sting out of you think that we we're not meant to be much chop this year

Quote:
We were exposed for all our shortcomings today.

Quote:
Football makes me sad

Football makes me happy

Quote:
We are our own worst enemy at the moment

Quote:
Oh boy. Not reading. I think ill take week off to avoid the blow ins. Have fun y'all

Quote:
Totally unacceptable display today.

Irrespective of age, we cannot allow for a lack of intensity.

Quote:
yikes

Quote:
The deckchairs will not kill me !!
I will come out the other side of this stronger !!

Quote:
** poor effort, anyone have the number of the bloke with the tip truck and chook poop?

Quote:
That was as bad a performance as I’ve seen from us. Our work transitioning from the centre line/HF to inside 50 was appalling.

Quote:
Im going to drink red wine folks

Quote:
To add salt into an already gapping wound, looks like the Bears are up for the fight agains the Hawks, which would relegate us to stone motherless last

Quote:
Wow... that was bad but we have 2 seriously tough weeks ahead. We could repeat this against Geelong away and then Sydney.

Quote:
Hearing that some Carlton people are getting concerned. Also hearing from a good sauce that talked to a young player that the group is struggling to understand Bolts and is switching off. Still in the Bolts camp, but concerned.

Quote:
We're nine weeks into a season where the coach wanted the team to be more attacking, yet we've just suffered our biggest loss in several seasons and it is the third time this year we've managed to kick less than 60 points. Can someone please explain.

Collingwood threw more money at Trelor than Carlton have spent on all those players combined.

Treloar is on about 800k if rumours are right.

If those 6 Carlton players are on 800k or less combined, is it any wonder they can't be bothered?

Oh and why aren't Sumner and Jackshit on that list. There was another player too, yeah?

While I'm here...

Big 4 teams don't play at Geelong.

12 months ago I would have said the Big 4 was us, Essington, Carrrton and Hawthorn, with Richmong missing out on account of their 3.5 decades of irrelevance. With the Tiggers getting the flag though, their bandwagon runneth over and so they probably earned their spot back.

It's time to stop thinking of the Blues as a Big 4 club. It's time to merge them up with North and send them to Hobart in navy blue and white stripes so that in the rain and the gloom, they can convince themselves that they are Collingwood. It's what their fans really want after all. Imagine if Brayshaw was still CEO. His Eddie fantasy would be complete.

I had a Doggies fan drop by my desk just now. He said: "Gee it was a pretty good crowd there on Friday night. 38,000 or something".

I snorted. Collingwood home game on a Friday night. 55,000 would have turned up if it was at the G and that's after 5 years of mediocrity on our behalf.

I look forward to the Friday nights where 38,000 turn up to Carlton's home game against us at Etihad and they too think it's a good thing because this week, they might just have been able to make dollar 1.

I think the quality of their effort against the Swans is to be applauded. They played their hearts out during the first half and gave their supporters hope by leading at half time. There's no point in them being thrashed dismally from the start of every game because their supporters wouldn't watch. So, fun and all as it is to see them be hopelessly non-competitive most weeks, it's good to see them keep their supporters watching for an hour or so before the team collapses in a dismal heap.

I must say I am most satisfied at Carlton being 18th on the ladder. About to order the wooden spoon, useful for stirring all the sad carlscum fans...

I think you're letting them off lightly. I won't be satisfied until they're below 20th.
