Simple question...........If getting Lynch meant losing deGoey which would you prefer????
Myself, I see more upside to Jordan than in Lynch.....He can play forward and kick goals and play a beast role in midfield........
Sign Jordan now before it's too late.....

Simple. No choice.
De Goey is a Collingwood player, one of our best young players, he has champion written all over him.

No choice!
Lynch has had twice as many games, and gets injured a lot.

No choice
DeGoey is a hard at it Mid, and makes us look better. We also have several guys who can kick goals, they just need better delivery.

No choice!

If we're to sign Lynch, then you can say goodbye to all our current free agents at seasons end;

Jarryd Blair
Alex Fasolo
Tyson Goldsack
Ben Reid
Josh Thomas

That's where the money will come from.

Who is JDGs manager?

TBH I hadn't seen or heard much of Lynch until we were supposedly 'after him'. Is he really that good? He's no roughie or buddy. What can he bring to the side that no one else can? De Goey showed us what he is capable of on Sunday night. Once he tightens up the defensive side of his game then he'll be almost unstoppable. If Lynch was literally the final piece of the puzzle in order to get a flag then I'd say yes, but I don't think we should sell the farm to get him. We'd have to give a lot away too. I could see him going to hawthorn or richmond; teams who are still in the window. There'll be others. What about Sloan?

Ben Niall (not to be confused with Pie-supporting journo Jake).
Has much experience with "difficult" clients.

That's not a choice.

You can't compete for a flag without brilliant midfielders (those who can also play forward are a bonus). You can compete without an overpaid tall forward.

JDG is a gun. Must be retained at all costs.

I would keep JDG, as long as he can keep himself in check off-field. Enormous upside to this kid, and if we can punch above our weight this season he'll be a key cog in an excitement machine for a few years to come.

Having said that, the "retain at all costs" talk is nonsense. If St. Kilda is willing to pay JDG 600k+, good luck to him.

I really don't think 600k is that bad considering the potential we've seen. The kid could be a match winner, they don't come cheap. If Bux really is starting to learn coaching the future is alarmingly bright.
I've been banging on about the strength of our list for a couple years. And I really do believe we have the best list in the game, especially as regards the next half dozen years.
JDG, Stevo, Darcy, Daics, Maynard, Wills, Crock, Shaz, Brown, Brown 2.0, as well as the old guys like Taylor Treloar, Crisp, WHE & Brodes (all of 24), Make the basis of an incredibly talented side, plus we most probably have Nick Daicos & Izaak Quaynor coming in the next year or two, both apparently guns. That's a delicious 18 player side right there.
