This week I’ve rewatched the 2010 prelim, man I love that game, and I started on the grand final replay today, (on the tready) man oh man, I nearly fell off at the smother, gees fricken amaze Balls!

Remembered a few things, Ling was a dirty shitty tool of a player, Gablett was sensational, but gees Daisy was fricken awesome. I forgot just how gutsy several players were in those matches, Brown took on 2 and won, jolly and ball were the best pickups ever, and Sidey looked like he was 5 years old!

It’s been a while since I’ve been inclined to watch the old wins, a few years in the wilderness on the field. No idea if this will last, but gees I’m ejyoying it! Cheers

Looking at HR jobs, not feeling inspired so I tried something completely different.

Went into the city today and signed up with a Talent agency. Gonna try my hand at acting and see how it goes. Shit, I've been pretending to be a HR professional for 20+ years, how hard can it be?

Go back in next week to get a professional photo shoot done in various clobber, then see what happens.

WTF, you only live once, why not try something while I can?

My sarcasm detector just went 'Ping', but I'll keep you all tuned as to how it goes.

As I said to the bloke today, I have low expectations. I'm not exactly Chris hemsworth, but let's jump in this car, take it for a spin and see where it goes.

What agency did you go to? This is something I've thought about doing from time to time, acting is being paid to play make believe; beats a hell of a lot of other jobs.

I meant that seriously, actually. Please give me all the gratuitous details. How do you select an agent or whatever to begin with? What are the costs? What did they tell you to expect?

[I doubt CH is a good actor, actually, though maybe I'm wrong. I assumed they just liked his look.]

OK.

so I started with google and from there joined an online casting advert board called starnow.com.au.

Registered there for free, then paid the extra to upload some extra photos, filled in the questionnaire , then checked out the recommended jobs.

One was as add from realpeople.com.au which is a talent agency. I applied to them, they contacted me and I went in today for an interview and get measured up.

They hit me for $400 up front, half of which is the cost of the photo session I do next week. They find jobs for me, give me right of veto if I don't like it and take 15% of whatever I earn.

Like I said, I'll see how it plays out. I don't have delusions that i'll suddenly be minting it with my head all over TV, just see what happens and go with the flow.

Bought my first car with $$$ from acting/catalogue shoots. But that was back in the day when I was young (& apparently cute). So long ago that the main show I was in younguns have never even heard of - The Sullivans. See - ages ago! But they need all sorts these days so why not!

We used to to drink at the Retreat befire the games at Victoria Park which was the pub they used in the Sullivans. 1970 aka Kieran Butler had one of his shows there a few years back.
