One of Gerards poorer sycophantic interviews. Generic question about several players possibly being available for selection. No follow up on whether that would be:
* Elliott
* DeGoey
* Fasolo etc..

Whateley was was on leave last week so no interview following the win over Adelaide. But he's back now and he spoke with Nathan Buckley on air this morning.

They talk about the 'bump', Anzac day and at the end Buckley's memory as a player in an Anzac Day incident he would rather forget. Pretty honest response. |

No interview broadcast last week due to Collingwoods mid-week game but he was back on air this morning.
Topics covered included: Bomber Thompson on drug charges; the current State of the Game debate (skills, congestion, need to kill prior opportunity rule, evolution of tactics, the annual rule change saga, reduced bench rotations and negative impact on players and the game, the beauty of seeing different games styles trumping other styles); Passion for the game; Last two games against Ess and Rich; Difference of opinion between club and externally of Pies best 22; Winning the lesson vs winning the 4 points; Teams posturing at this stage of season; Pies progress to date and fixture ahead; and Richmonds successful attributes.

Thanks again Woods. Brilliant listening to Bucks as always. He is a very intelligent and articulate man. I also think he is coaching well. Many on here are confused and think that his performance in the media and as a coach are mutually exclusive and that somehow his ability to come across so well when interviewed hides some deficiencies as a coach. Listen to this interview and its clear. The man clearly knows what hes doing. _________________ 'Collingwood are the Bradmans of Football'

Thank goodness Buckley woke up to his senses and got away from that idiot, Robbo, on Fox Footy. At least, Gerald Whateley has a few brains and knows how to interview. |

Hopefully there is nothing in this but given that the Saints are into him, its worth noting they only have only kept their first and fourth round picks for this year. The way the Saints are going ( ladder wise ) a deal involving their first round pick would be a real possibility.
I dont want DeGoey going anywhere but a trade involving an early first rounder is reasonable compensation.
The reality is that if are to secure Quaynor and Kelly without using our first round pick, then we will need to trade into the draft.
Interesting times ahead. |
