Alas, the imminent interval (just) fails to take a wicket this time.
But before that Faf effs off, once again showing he's all bark and no bite. |

Lucky there was a run-out. Aus. suffering from the usual problems bowling on slow pitches. The bowlers need pace and bounce. This makes it easy for home countries to doctor their pitches. On slow pitches, the Aus. batsmen will find ways to get themselves out anyway, and then their good bowling attack is blunted. |

Finally, the breakthrough, thanks to Marsh & Paine. And with the new ball approaching too. Must be a huge relief for Smith.
6/283 after being 4/49. |

Wow. And just like that, 9 wickets down, after a triple-wicket maiden from Starc. And, if it gets to his next over, Starc will be on a hat-trick.
But wait! He may need to wait until tomorrow!! Tell me this: how can it be too dark when they have and are using the lights?
Lyon on. Previously lost in the excitement, the fact he is wicketless. More fourth-innings problems for Lyon? |

Stumps on day 4. New ball available. Starc has the night to ponder a possible attempt at a hat-trick. In-swinging yorker? |

The media are being somewhat charitable to Lyon when they report he dropped the ball close to ABCDV's prostrate body. You can see the shirt moving, so clearly Lyon dropped the ball so close that it actually dropped on ABCDV's body. I think that's crossing the line into clearly unacceptable behaviour.
But that's nothing compared with what Channel 9 are claiming regarding QdK. If QdK really did make obscene comments, which he's made before, about DW's wife, he needs to be suspended from the next Test.
Anyway, where were we? Oh, in the midst of a hat-trick attempt. |
