Post subject: Santa wish list for 2018 PlayersReply with quote

Dear Santa,

Can I please have:

1. Fasolo: play 20 matches, lay 3 tackles per game and kick 35+ goals and shut up

2. Degoey: move in with Pendlebury tomorrow and learn first hand what elite preparation is

3. Wells: play 17 games, rest every 5th week and justify the 3rd year option on your lucrative deal

4. Grundy: Play 30% forward and average 1 goal/game plus hurt opposition backmen and rucks

5. Elliott: play, play and play

6. Goldsack: just do what you did in 2017

7. Treloar: 75% kicking efficiency and kick more goals

8. Langdon: hit targets

9. Murray: please be better than David Robertson from 1987 and justify us giving away our 2018 “second round” draft selection for a never played before rookie listed player!

10. Pendles: protect your fingers

11. Blair: win the Reserves b&f and enjoy playing with your brother

12. Scharenberg: display improved agility especially within your “legs”

13. Adams: stay out of the nightclubs and no over-ambitious inward kicks to the opposition

14. Aish: in the words of Madonna “express yourself” James. Play with freedom and personality and let your ability shine!

15. Dunn: keep kicking it like Clement and defending like Pert until McLarty is ready

16. Mayne: in the words of John Kennedy “ DO SOMETHING”! Tackle, kick a goal and stop whinging to your dad.

17. C Brown: weights, weights, weights

18. Varcoe: no hamstrings and mitigate 12 possession efforts

19. Greenwood: last year of deal do go the extra mile. Pick up messrs Selwood, Cotchin, Sloane and Murphy from their homes on match day

20. Reid: have the feeling this may be his last year so it’s make “no break” down for you sir.

21. Phillips: Tom, in every article you opine about your running prowess. It’s okay to tackle and kick on your “right side” effectively.

22. Sidebottom: Nathan, we have enough accumulators so plonk Steele inside 50 and let him kick 40+ goals and create some much needed X Factor

23. McLarty: 6-7 matches would be an excellent result

24. J Thomas: inspire me

25. Crisp: keep running and avoiding kicks to 50:50 contests

26. Daicos: other than perpetuate the genetics natural progression would be fine

27. Kirby: just play him and Pies officials please sto[ trotting out the cliches about his need to improve his fitness

28. Murphy: no rush, put on weight and adjust to AFL rigours

29. Broomhead: PUT HIM IN THE BACK POCKET. He has pace, can kick and needs a position out of the midfield where we have surplus options

30. Moore: low injuries and swing man duties depending on matchup

32. Hoskins Elliott: more of 2017 please. Would plonk him deep forward and let his high flying prowess take over, with rotations up the field with Stephenson

33. Rupert: sound body and 15 games. Has something we lack

34. T Brown: weights, weights and more weights

35. Stephenson: “release him straight away” and rotate between the ring and deep forward with Hoskin Elliott

36. Sier: play please, play play play: signed Derek Hine

37. Maynard: ban from defensive 50 (especially the kick ins). Plonk on a wing and prove to me you’re more than a “poor man’s Ryan Lonie”

38. Howe: contrary to many play him Forward as often as possible. With Moore back, we can’t put have every X factor player in defence

39. Crocker: count your 2 year contract dollars and be the best VFL player you can be

40. J Smith: when the “heat is on at the MCG” in front of 70,000 fans please don’t cough it up, amble around with no intensity or constantly chip kick laterally

41. Mihocek: solid backup if needed

43. Oxley: polarising player but I still can’t help but remember his 2015 exploits in defence with his intercept marking and long kicking. Reckon a move forward in what=t looms as his “make or break season”

44. Magden: if he plays senior footy in 2018 it shall be an achievement

45. Lynch: purely backup of back up. If he plays we are bottom 4 on the ladder

46. Mason: 30:70 Ruck:forward ratio with 30 goals a realistic but exciting achievement

Pretty humble requests SANTA!

discussing your post would hit just about every topic that has been discussed on Nicks in the last three years. brilliant.

my only change would be to your point 2. i think you meant to say:

2. Degoey: move in with Jarryd Blair tomorrow and learn first hand what elite preparation is.

Love it - especially liked "Aish: in the words of Madonna “express yourself” James. Play with freedom and personality and let your ability shine!" and "Maynard: ban from defensive 50 (especially the kick ins). Plonk on a wing and prove to me you’re more than a “poor man’s Ryan Lonie”

Agreed made this call a few times! See if he can give us something down there.

I like the Broomhead shift to the backpocket too but I’m guessing his lack of body strength would seriously go against him in marking contests.
Any decent opposition would be able to exploit that weakness on most occasions.
Hmm, I guess that means I don’t like it then.

Well, Santa needs to give him a new shoulder (and new medicos, so they don't destroy Santa's new gift), so he can tackle properly.
I don't know how the bung shoulder affects him in marking contests, though.

Don’t know if we need his aerial skills there 😁

Nicksters are obsessed by the belief we already have his elves, so I guess you must mean the reindeer.
