I don’t take this article as positively as the headline invites, but FWIW here it is:

We’ll struggle to kick goals. Again.

Best case is 7 or 8. We’ll finish anywhere between 7 and 14.

Certainly has been one of the most obvious weaknesses for a while. Hopefully with changes the last couple of years (skills acquisition coach, playing personnel, coaching personnel, etc) we can turn it around.

I think we need to move away from expecting it to always be kick-mark-goal and look towards crumbing forwards who can get the ball on the ground and kick goals. There is little excuse for opposition marks in our forward line (at least when we enter properly) with Cox, Reid etc down there.

I often think a defenders worst nightmare is a screwed up ground ball kick heading into the forward line as it is so hard to predict with the oval ball and I'm yet to be convinced that this isn't a better option than the bomb away in the air which seems to 7 or 8 times out of 10 get marked by an opposition defender.

Hanging out for some footy today even if it is only Norf vs the ski crowd and whatever it takes vs the life members.

per Stevo

Adam Treloar sore post Pies intra club ... in for scans, adamant a maintenance check ... more to revealed at main training session tomorrow ... with no risk policy, trip to take on GWS in Canberra seems unlikely ...

From the intra-(inter-)club evidence, methinks we can pencil in a loss here. But don't worry: it's just practice.

I stand by my earlier goal struggles comment.
Going to be a LONG season.
We really think the addition of two small forwards, Elliott and Fasolo, as good as they are, is going to suddenly make this squad a finals contender?
A one paced plod squad... again.
