Dear all,

Down 9 kgs in three weeks- essentially carb-free (no bread, pasta, rice etcetera). Have been living on salads and fish and a traditional Estonian soup; (mainly chicken, silver beet, onion, cabbage, pumpkin and cubed Parmesan cheese).

Am noticing the difference mainly in breathing (much easier) and clothes are nowhere near as tight.

Have been humbled by the support which has been encouraging and positive.

Thank you all.

Fantastic achievement Warburton Lad !

Has it go easier or harder to stick to the diet as the weeks have progressed ? Have you had any moments of weakness along the way ?

Keen to continue to follow your progress...

Oh, and looking forward to the upcoming best seller "Dieting the Warburton Lad Way".... Wink

First three days were the hardest to be sure, but have been more mobile and therefore able to do more in terms of exercise. In answer to Think Positive, yes, the knee is giving me less grief- the more I lose, the more I can do.

The Estonian Soup can be varied by the addition of mushrooms and/or red and green capsicum. My ancestors often survived the harsh winters on this staple and rarely had heart issues or obesity.

Will give updates as the weeks progress and hopefully the weight drops off!!

Great stuff lad.

If It's not a rude question, may I ask what your weight was at the start, and your height?

I don't put a lot of store in the BMI, but someone who's 6'4 and 120kg is in better shape than someone who's 5'6 and 120 kg. Wink

Also, are you off the alcohol as well?

No problem. Im far too old to be vain.

178cms and 136 kilograms when I began my diet.

I have never drunk alcohol in my life.

Now 178 cms and 127 kilograms

Long way to go, but my weight is heading in the right direction at last..

Thanks for that lad, that's a fair burden the old knees have been lugging round.

The reason I asked about the alcohol is the sugar in that messes with almost every diet, so if you don't drink, your job just got easier.

best wishes with it sire, if you can get down to near 100kg you won't know yourself health wise, but a long life is no good unless it's enjoyed, so do what you need to do to enjoy your life.

It's good to see that you are still 178 cms tall, so the Estonian soup diet is not making you shrink. Rolling Eyes

just nudged the ten kilograms off mark.

celebrated with half a bowl of 'Warby Lad's Estonian Soup' and a small egg salad.

The knee is relieved at the sudden weight drop and exercise is less problematic.

Would encourage any else carrying a few pounds to knuckle down- if I can lose weight, most anyone can.
