Yeah, I wasn't unhappy to see him go, but that Top 10 pick wasted... _________________ Quality over quantity |

It's a strange one because I know the kid and his family so well and the fact is that he never had a hammy issue ( or any soft tissue injury to speak of ) until he did the first one at Collingwood.
Make of that what you will but he certainly appears destined to never reach his true capabilities as an AFL footballer. |

Yes, at this stage, can any hamstring issue he has be independent of his initial injuries? There's probably no "different [i.e. new] area" for something to occur.
But his current club must have been fairly confident that his history would not destroy his future to take him on (although that was at a reduced price). |

I'm sure the StKilda loving Freemans will blame Collingwood for its handling of Nathan's initial hammy. |

Interesting, but who do they blame? After the initial injury, then it's the club medicos' domain. And surgery is the particular chosen surgeon's domain. Lots of candidate villains. |

Why does it always have to be someone else's fault?
It was just a hamstring injury, not some sort of obscure rare injury. Almost every footballer does a hammy at some stage and the rehab procedures are well known.
There are many stories of players that would have been good enough if their bodies had allowed them to be. To pluck a few names from our club, Hanneberry, Dalkin and Orval may have all succeeded if their bodies had held up. I am sure that they didn't blame Davoren or the club. Neale Daniher could play a bit too, but it wasn't Davoren that ended his career. |

Its really sad what we did to him. I have a feeling our fitness staff made the mistake of treating our new kids the same as adults with multiple pre-seasons under their belt. the stress on these young bodies may explain the chronic injuries our young guys suffered.
the fact that he has done his hammy again does not exonerate us. Once Buckley started pinging hammies, they just keep pinging. They always do. Hammies are fragile once torn once. Especially when torn off the bone! _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |
