Here are eight reasons Collingwood can improve in 2018.
1 FAVOURABLE FIXTURE
Champion Data has rated Collingwood’s 2018 fixture the easiest of any club. ... It is easier than their 2017 draw, which was ranked the seventh hardest.
...
2 MOORE TO GIVE
...
3 MORE WELLS (HOPEFULLY)
...
4 STABILITY
...
5 THAT REVIEW
...
6 MIDFIELD
...Champion Data ranked it as the best entering the 2017 season and the numbers from the campaign suggest that was not far off. The Magpies ranked second in disposals, fifth in clearances and sixth in inside 50s. It’s also worth noting Wells missed 12 games, Jordan De Goey 8 and Scott Pendlebury 6. ...
...
7 FORWARD CONNECTIVITY
Collingwood’s biggest problem was no secret this year — hitting targets inside 50 and finding the goals. The Magpies averaged 4.3 inside 50s per goal, ranked 15th. Their scoring accuracy was even worse, coming in at 55.3 per cent, which ranked them 16th. ...
...
8 STABLE LIST
...

I have to say, it looks like in order to come up with eight reasons he's had to list some negatives & just speculate that the club will improve on those in 2018. |

Making the eight is irrevelent.
Building a list that can bring home a flag sometime soon is the only thing.
Have we got the list and coaching staff to get there?
Probably not but we aren't a basket case and we have some potential. |

I think we do have to make the eight next year, just to relieve the pressure on Nathan Buckley's job. It is an easier draw next year and if we can avoid our usual slump midseason and not get too many injuries, I can't see why we can't make the eight with the list we're building. |

Making finals is an important stepping stone in general.
A team would almost certainly need finals experience before winning the flag... though I guess if a team were to win in the first week then they could in the second week claim that the previous week was all the finals experience they needed.
Returning to the question of predictions, I don't recall definite predictions that we'll make the eight, but I don't think it's the time when the journos make their predictions. It'll be another couple of months at least before that time, I think. |

Does anyone in the media or football world rate us in 2018?

The TAB's predicted number of wins for each club --- "Over/Under" the tabloid seems to call them (betting people can tell me what the standard terminology is):
Adelaide 14.5; Brisbane 7.5; Carlton 6.5; Collingwood 11.5
Essendon 11.5; Fremantle 8.5; Geelong 13.5; GC 6.5
GWS 13.5; Hawthorn 10.5; Melbourne 12.5; North 7.5
Port 13.5; Richmond 12.5; StK 9.5; Sydney 14.5
WCE 10.5; Bulldogs 11.5.
It looks like they have GC & Carlton battling for the spoon (would that be good for us on the Lynch front?), while Adelaide, Sydney, Geelong, GWS & Port compete to secure the double chance. It seems we're projected to be in a three-way race for the last spot in the eight. I guess TAB shares my opinion that the last two premiers have been mediocre teams. Could, say, Port be the next mediocre team to snatch --- possibly steal --- a premiership? |

His ten games was an interesting read !!
18.5 pocessions and average a goal every game done from a less than good preparation
7 winning games —one draw and game against Crows 34 pocession and 3 goals
Be positive to increase his game tally for the side _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

Seriously dude, I get your thrust, but you're not suggesting that we go from 15th to flag in one year are you? _________________ Go Pies! |
