|
Tough side to beat...
B. Hardwick Frawley Stratton
HB. Birchall Sicily Burgoyne
C. Smith Shiels Howe
HF. Burton Gunston Breust
F. Rioli Roughead Puopolo
Rucks: McEvoy, O'Meara, Mitchell
Inter: Impey, Henderson, Langford, Ceglar
Emerg: Duryea, Brand, Whitecross
I reckon our chances would increase dramatically if each side had say 2-3 of their best 18 players missing.
At full strength, this a 51/49 game...Hawthorn's way.
Baptism of fire for Murray (on Cyril) and we must sit on Mitchell (enter Rupert Wills).
Classic 8 point game and key contest in the context of the season for both clubs... _________________ "Give Bucks a bit of a go mate, because when Bucks was the captain he carried that team for you, he played his guts out for you

You're right about Impey (forgot about him). In he comes for Whitecross.
As for Hawthorn's leg speed...Smith, Rioli, O'Meara, Burton, Puopolo and Impey are all quick. _________________ "Give Bucks a bit of a go mate, because when Bucks was the captain he carried that team for you, he played his guts out for you |

A slow side with useless rucks. We'll smash 'em. |

We need to reverse this thinking about worrying about who the opposition are. It's about time the opposition starting worrying about playing us, at which point of time the opposition will start respecting us again. I had a shopkeeper today, a Richmond supporter, ask me when we were sacking Nathan Buckley and who our next coach is going to be. My answer was Buckley is our coach and we're all very happy with him and we're looking forward to playing Richmond this year. Bring it on. |

I agree Might Magpie.....
I think we are doing a lot of very intense work (including training in the heat) to hit the season very fit whilst other teams build. I hope we can catch a few teams early, grab wins and build some internal belief. Every team will look to improve so we need to be ahead of the curve |

It may have been better to play Richmond first up. The teams that go deepest into the finals have the least time to prepare for the next season, since rules stipulate a minimum break for the players. |

That didn't work out for us last year. We lost to the Dogs in round 1. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |
