Started Dark tonight. 3 episodes in and I have NFI what's going on but I think I really like it. So far reminds me of a German version of Stranger Things. |
Cheers Mandy, 2 episodes of El Chappo season 2 to go and I’ll check it out! _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

Godless sounds good. Thanks for the heads up. To much quality television produced now to keep track of it all.
I had already downloaded Dark but only set to start watching it today.
One television show I only discovered recently but really like is The Gifted.
It's part of the Marvel universe and is about two teenagers who recently discover they have mutant powers in a world where mutants are now ostracized by most because of their ability.
The twist is their father works as a prosecutor for Sentinel services the organisation responsible for punishing and imprisoning mutants deemed a danger to society.
Stars Amy Acker as the mother who I've loved since her days as Fred on Angel (she's still hot) and Stephen Moyer as the father who people would recognise from the television show True Blood. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

Ok so I started watching godless last night, kept falling asleep during episode 3 about 11.30 so went to bed, watched the rest of 3 and 4 while I had a couple of coffees and breaky, and just watched the rest. I found it rather hard going the first few, it’s no deadwood, but gees it ramps up around episode 5 and the last episode was the 2nd best finale ever! Just behind breaking bad the last series, and just in front of SOA I think season three when they kill that evil DA and the Irish dude!
Very fitting end, not sure what I wanted to happen, ie who gets the girl! And man did the sister steal the show! Well done Mandy and thanks, not something I would have watched!
So just googled season 2, the actors aren’t keen, and then I googled the actors, obviously I had already spotted Tig, but bloody hell, Jeff Daniels is Frank! Now I feel old!
Worth watching, very satisfying and fairly believable ending. _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

I agree it was a great ending too. I don't think it needs a season 2. _________________ #TEAMBUCKS

Godless wasn't as good as I hoped for and in reality when it comes to revenge Westerns if you've seen one you've seen them all I guess.
I enjoyed the first 9 episodes of Dark but hated the finale. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

I guess this was a bit different because of the mainly female cast? Although it wasn’t as female as I expected!surely yo7 appreciated lady Godiva! _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

Agreed. I think I would have liked them to have wrapped it all up in one season rather than leave it hanging for a second one.
I watched season 4 of Black Mirror yesterday. As usual, it was pretty hit and miss. There was only 1 I really hated (Metalhead) so I guess that's not too bad. The first episode, USS Callister, is brilliant. _________________ #TEAMBUCKS

What did you think? I hated it and forwarded through most of the dog chases. I just found it boring and I wanted her to hurry up and die. _________________ #TEAMBUCKS

Anyone else watching SBS’s new Slow TV - “The Ghan - Australia’s Greatest Train Journey”? I’m finding it mesmerising. Such beautiful scenery, and the train just moving along. For the uninitiated, the show has no commentary at all. You just settle back and watch. Sometimes an overhead drone type view, sometimes a view along the track like the driver sees or you get a view out of a train window. The world just passes bye and you have a look.
I flicked over to 60 Minutes for a sec to see Hamish & Andy loudly prattling along about themselves and immediately switched back to the serenity |

Just finished The Punisher, I'd put it second to DD Season 1 in the Netflix Marvel universe; they've really set up the character nicely. Even though he was already Punisher, this felt like an origin story so hopefully he gets another season and an awkward teamup with DD or JJ. |

SBS "The Vietnam War" Probably the most non bias doco of all time. You hear from ex Vets from all sides not just pro US rubbish. Excerpts of Presidential phone calls and released material. It's well done and show's what a gigantic Cluster Fck that war was and they still do not know how many Vietnamese were killed. It goes into the Protest movement as well. A lot of film I have not seen before. Worth the watch if you are interested. A Torrent is available as well. |
