Technically yes. But a mass denunciation of said citizenship offer. I dare say the High Court would be reluctant to do anything about it because surely they Paliament could have some sort of joint sitting and sack all the judges as traitors. _________________ Annoying opposition supporters since 1967. |

Now it's come to a head and the suggestion is up to 14 MP's are heading to the High Court. A few seats that could go either way makes it even more interesting. |

It's like three-quarter time in a close Grand Final. |

David Feeney, Labor factional hack par excellence, is gaaawn. The Greens will win his seat easily this time. I’ve tried to avoid feelings of schadenfreude throughout this whole process; why must the universe tempt me so!? _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

After the recent Northcote state by-election, I think the Greens will win comfortably here. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

Anyone watching Question Time right now? Labor and the crossbenchers are moving to refer nine MPs to the High Court. Wonder if someone like George Christensen will cross the floor and get the vote passed. Popcorn required! _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

It’s a tie, and the speaker votes it down. The government breathes a sigh of relief... _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

And now we have another independent crossbencher, with Lambie doing a Hanson and summarily kicking Steve Martin out of her party.
http://www.smh.com.au/federal-politics/political-news/jacqui-lambie-expels-senator-steve-martin-from-party-for-denying-her-return-to-parliament-20180207-h0vpsq.html
If anyone's been following the changes to the crossbench since last election, it goes:
Scott Ludlam (Greens) ---> Replaced by Jordan Steele-John (Greens)
Larissa Waters (Greens) ---> Replaced by Andrew Bartlett (Greens)
Cory Bernardi (Liberal, now Australian Conservatives)
Bob Day (Family First) ---> Replaced by Lucy Gichuhi (Family First, then independent, now Liberal)
Jacqui Lambie (JLN) ---> Replaced by Steve Martin (Independent)
Rod Culleton (One Nation, then independent) ---> Replaced by Peter Georgiou (One Nation)
Malcolm Roberts (One Nation) ---> Replaced by Fraser Anning (One Nation, now independent)
Nick Xenophon (NXT) ---> Replaced by Rex Patrick (NXT)
Skye Kakoschke-Moore (NXT) ---> set to be replaced by Tim Storer (Independent)
Apart from the other seven Greens, only Pauline Hanson (ONP), Brian Burston (ONP), Stirling Griff (NXT), David Leyonhjelm (LDP) and Derryn Hinch (Justice Party) have survived the revolving door, and six seats have changed party affiliations (two of them twice!). Keeping in mind that senators are usually elected for six-year terms, that's quite a body count... _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Lets not forget Susan Lamb, still a duel citizen, as she needs a copy of her parents marriage certificate apparently to be able to renounce.
She reckons her Dad's dead and she doesn't talk to her mum, so can't get it.
Dunno how hard she tried, depending where they were married, kids can apply for a copy of parents marriage cert under conditions and can make special application to the registrar if they don't meet the conditions. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |
