Would you support a Grandfather-Grandson rule?
Yes. It makes sense.

No, it's already complicated enough with the Father-Son rule.

Interesting words from KB.

Quote:
Richmond great Kevin Bartlett has called for the AFL to introduce a grandfather-grandson rule to ensure that iconic football families continue to be linked to the same club.

Collingwood 1958 premiership player Ron Richards’ grandson, Ed, was drafted by the Western Bulldogs in this year’s national draft, while Magpie legend Murray Weideman’s grandson, Sam, is now heading into his third season with Melbourne.

That would have made Jonathan Brown eligible to play for us. Except he was a father son pick to Fitroy. Can't see the interstate clubs except maybe West Australia and South Australia agreeing to it.

I still think the rules can be tinkered with. Best and Fairest winners and Brownlow winners should be included with the 100 gamers as well.

Maybe change the rules for grandchildren. Must have played 200 games, be life members and either captained or won a B and F or a Brownlow.

But nobody with a modicum of sense listens to KB anyway.

Geelong could have had the wooller kid if they wanted as well.

And most importantly Premiership players who didn't reach the 100 game mark for the club they won a flag at their kids should get automatic FS status.

Like Luke Ball among others.

No.

And scrap father-son while we're at it.

So apparently the AFL is considering a family connection type rule... Hmmm.

Could all be too late really.

Something tells me that we might see Ed Richards here some day. Sam Weideman though is probably never going to play here.

As I understand it, Sam Weideman didn't even barrack for us, so I can't see his connection to the club is that strong.
