I'd love to be up in Sydney with a view over the harbour when they have their awesome lightning shows a few times a year.

Of course knowing when to book the hotel is the big bloody problem!

Tracking tornadoes in the US would also be awesome though as I don't have a death wish I'd have my limits as to how close we got.

If I won Tattslotto buying a house with an unhindered ocean view would be the ultimate for a lightning show.

Not game enough to be a storm chaser, but yes on the ocean view!

I get what you mean Jezza, they are very aesthetic! Geesthey make a mess sometimes Though!

had a scheduled 2pm team meeting with my direct reports this afternoon. One of them asked me yesterday if we were having the meeting, and I said, how bout we have it offsite and have a drink.

Didn't have to suggest that twice.

Had a nice catchup with them over a drink at the town centre (or whatever it's called) at eastland. It was good. Few laughs, let a bit of the angst out. I'm all good with what's happening to me, but they are all impacted in different ways. New manager, new expectations, new responsibilities. It's all unknown and none of them are looking forward to it, but it was good to do.

Kathy joked that she's been trying for 6 years to get me to do the team meetings offsite at a cafe or something and it took getting booted for me to finally agree to be social. Wink

They gave me a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue in a box with 2 glasses as a present. totally unexpected but very nice.

Really nice little informal send off, considering I don't know yet when I'm finishing up. I keep hearing them telling me what a great manager I've been. All my direct reports were managers in their own right and a manager is only as good as the team they put around them. I hired/promoted all except one of my direct reports and I must have done something right cos they were the Best....Team....Ever.

That was nice of them, goodonya, left a good impression obviously

Well my days been awesome, topped off by Juniors team winning the first final against the odds. Haven’t beaten this team, and last time they were winning and threw it away in the last minutes and I chewed them out, even though I’m not the coach! So did the right thing and patted them all on the back, cos they were bloody awesome! The other team has a state rep goalie, and they came back from 6 down to 1 down with 2 min in it. I can still hardly talk, so I couldn’t yell, but credit to them they hung in there and won by 4! Cheers, may your tomorrow be as good as my today!

After a fairly frustrating week, had a good meeting with the boss this morning.

All good, everything sorted, I finish up next Friday.

Got a couple of things to do which will occupy the brain enough to make the time go, so I'm happy.

It was important to me to leave on good terms, provided I didn't get arse raped on the way out the door so that's all sorted, my Salary packaging manager has sorted my final pay out, I've sorted out the lease vehicle, and I've got Berrigan council going to check out why the holiday house has no water pressure.

All is good.
