Wimbledon champion 1998, passes at 49 years of age.
I can clearly remember her in the 1993 Wimbledon Final serving to go 5-1 up in the final set v Steffi Graf. She double faulted when serving for game point. She completely got the jitters, kept double faulting and miss hitting and barely won another point. Poor girl cried and cried out there on Centre Court at the finish. But she finally got back up to win Wimbledon in 1998 in one of the most popular wins ever.
Bloody cancer again.

How terribly sad, so young. I remember that game, lost to Graf, and cried all over 5he duchess of Kent I believe it was. Lost the final once more, and then finally triumphed. Always seemed like a very likeable person, and a good sport.
