COLLINGWOOD insists Jamie Elliott has had only precautionary scans .. (to assess last years injury status before commencing training, I presume ...)

Tetanus shot required.

Pies play down Elliott scans after he leaves training

Matt Thompson November 17, 2017 11:07 AM

COLLINGWOOD insists Jamie Elliott has had only precautionary scans despite leaving training early on Friday.

The small forward was spotted leaving the track not long after the session began.

A short time later the 25-year-old attended the nearby scanning clinic at AAMI Park.

Having missed all of 2016 with back problems, Elliott played 17 games this year.

However, 2017 wasn't without injury concerns as he suffered ankle problems.

Elliott avoided reporters as he left the scanning centre through a side door.

Collingwood said Elliott wasn't officially due to start his pre-season until Monday, and the scans were only precautionary to assess the state of last year's injuries.

Unknown whether there is any injury. Club says no, just precautionary scans to see how his back is going.

All we know is that he left training early and went for scans.

Surgery required. It was his existing ankle problem. Will resume training late January
