Interested to know if posters would prefer Broomhead to Seedsman, to Blair, to Aish et al?

Look, good luck to Seedie but 1 good game per season doesn't quite cut it.

He may be in the right place at the right time and be a premiership player. If so, there's plenty better and plenty worse but good luck to him.

He's taken half the year to get into the Crows team, wouldn't be there if they had a full list to pick from and played well. Don't need him.

Bingo. Always did his best work with others doing the heavy lifting around him.

Short memories, his last year with us was frickin' horrid. Don't let one good game in 2 years rewrite history

all you footy experts, buck lovers sit on your couch and watch seedsman play in the grand final, and dream buckleys collingwood makes the finals next year
he is a good player who left because of bucks culture, like so many more

As someone on the record of having said that Buckley should have been replaced with 8 games to go in the season, this was a player issue, pure and simple and had nothing to do with Buckley.

Just another example of a player who didn't fit the Buckley profile. He liked a bit of fun and because we aren't good and circumventing this, he was out.

And what are we missing now, a quick running half back who can actually kick.

We wouldn't have won the 2010 flag if not for the so-called party boys.

Makes you sick to read that Geelong are demanding the list team recruit Stringer because they have the culture to straighten him out. We simply put a line through him because it would be too hard.

He won the ANZAC medal, then partied for the rest of the year and played like crap. Our 2010 party boys played to the highest standard DESPITE partying. Our team culture, that built up to the 2010 GF formed over many years when Bucks was a strong part of that culture as captain. His spirit and drive, I believe had a lot to do with our 2010 win.

I loved Seedsy, but he had to go after that year, and if he hadn't been booted by us at that time, might have never got his crap together and been playing like he has been. If he keeps up the good work I'll personally welcome him back to the fold should he deign to

He was in the Crows' best 5 on the night (and BOG in the 2nd quarter by a considerable margin) and his contested work was surprisngly good. He had injury problems that have restricted his appearances this year (he didn't get onto the park until about halfway through the season). It's probably desirable to look at these things without worrying about whether it was a good or bad decision to trade him. He looked incapable of playing like that in the last part of his Collingwood career but he certainly played a huge part in getting Adelaide into the Grand Final. It's a credit to him. Saying that doesn't require giving anyone else a corresponding whack.

Not one post in the last couple seasons about how much we miss Seedsman or how important he would be in our current line up.
The guy finally shows up in a prelim a couple years after the trade is done and some people still want to whack the club.
I'm happy for him, he left his family and mates to pursue his footy career.
Would he have played that well for Collingwood if was still in Victoria, who knows ?

Oh please. The guy played loose at half back and could barely rack up 12 touches a game. Missed nearly every goal on the run for us too. He is an average outside player at best. No disrespect to him, but he's not a very good AFL player.

The best thing we did for him was getting rid of him because he's playing a much more mature grade of football at Adelaide. Sometimes a club can do everything for a player but gets no credit for the player and the next club the player goes to gets all the credit. Regrettable but that's the way it goes. It works both ways. We get a player who doesn't work out at another club and that player matures at our club.

^ This. Note also that Seedsman at the Crows looked like a genuine dud for the first year or so. He spent a lot of time out of the senior side. But over time, he has worked his way back in, and is making a contribution now.

It is actually pretty rare for a fringe/OK/young and developing player to go to a new club and suddenly become a champion. It takes time. Look at Adams (who played seconds for us) as an example. Even players like Crisp and WHE, who have both played consistently in the senior side, have been on thin ice from time to time, and neither one has yet become an automatic pick.

Remember also that Seedy had the odd outstanding game back when he was with us: his performance against the Drug Cheats on Anzac Day a while back was a beauty.

I pretty much agree inky, but you were off the mark regarding Crisp and WHE. I can't recall either of them ever playing in the ressies, so they are clearly automatic picks and they have been from the get go.

Let's be fair about Seedsman's stint at Adelaide, so far. He played the first 12 games in a row last year, then injured his hamstring and played only one more full game (although he did come back to play in one of the SANFL finals). So, injuries generally prevented him playing from August 2016 until mid-June 2017, when he resumed playing at SANFL level. Despite that, he's worked his way back into the senior side of the best team in the country and this week was one of their best in a preliminary final win. Even more importantly, he played his best football early in the game, when it was there to be won.

Good luck to him, I say.

wow, i was shocked at the influence that Seedsman had on the game last night. Perticularly in the first half when the game was on the line.

Of course, in very collingwood fashion he missed a set shot from 30 out straight in front, but otherwise, he played great.

he has probably done enough to make the grand final.

Now we watch to see if heafy will join in him in the big dance.

Typical Seedsman game. Great early then disappeared. Paul is the salt and pepper on a great roast dinner! Not the meat, not the potatoes, nor the gravy! Salt and pepper. That's it!

1: I'm not Inky. We are a little similar, but I'm better looking.

2: I said AUTOMATIC pick, not REGULAR pick. There is a difference. An automatic pick is one you don't even think about. Pendles is an automatic pick. Elliott is an automatic pick. Crisp isn't. Neither is WHE. Crisp was on thin ice there for a while, but has come good in the back line. If he continues to improve, he will be an automatic pick pretty soon - a player you never even think about dropping - but he's not there yet.

3: "Get go" is a horrible Americanism. Go and wash your mouth out or we will think you are a Yankee-boy.
