An AFL insider with a close relationship with McLachlan. Good choice.

He seems to be well regarded as an administrator,so he could be a good choice for CEO.What he does in the privacy of his bedroom is of no concern to me,as long as he doesn't do it with me.

When I was helping Liam Jurrah begin his football journey, initially with Collingwood's inaugural VFL team, the club arranged for him to play a few games with Old Xavs, and Simon Lethlean was their coach. I found him to be a very nice bloke and he was very supportive of Liam, so I can only say good things about the bloke.

The man had an affair with a younger woman. I don't condone it and feel dreadfully sorry for his family, but he didn't exactly bomb an embassy.

For mine it's very much a personal issue and really nobody's business.

If he comes aboard I wish him the best of luck.

I live with a woman 21 years younger than me. Who cares? The AFL have has no rights in players or workers bedrooms.

Do we have other candidates under active consideration who did exactly bomb an embassy? Shocked

Now here is a guy with great character to lead the club. I'm sure he'll be quiet respected around the place. He will fit in perfectly with the current culture.

When "H" labels it a "Boys Club" he may just be right.

It's where McLaughlan went too far. Lethlean was not the woman's line manager

She was closer to 30 not 18. It was overreach & showed what an idiot Mc Laughlan was. It wasn't anybody else's business.

I thought at the the time this journalist covered it best Gay Alcorn:

Sounds like Lethlean might be a good fit

Fair to say when you're a white man living in Thailand that's expected. Razz

Has the credentials - his issue are between him and his family.
I think he would be a good choice

Eddie's Mastermind tricks might have worked. Leak the affair to get him fired..... Bring him to Collingwood for half of what it would of cost to drag him out of the afl

Well played Eddie

Meanwhile, at Hawthorn...

Gaudry's failure to engage with key staff and lack of football experience put her at odds with the football department and wider staff from the outset at a time when the club is looking to relocate to Dingley, rebuild its list, and had already lost senior people from its organisation.

The Hawks now join Collingwood in the search for a new CEO, but former AFL executive Simon Lethlean has been linked to the Magpies' job.
