That's not the correct way to assess Fasolo, though - he only turns up to every third game, so he's really going at 4 goals a match this year.

Gave him the #10 and noticed Pendles went to #42. Shocked

Anyway, won the Coleman, Brownlow, Norm Smith and *Rising Star all in year one. *Now I know RG3 is like 27, but all signs point to yes.

For mine Cox has looked all at sea this year, I thought he was better last year. Commentators rule of thumb for Cox to become useful is that delivery has to be right on top of his head to have a chance in marking it. A couple of metres either side and he struggles to read the flight.

At this stage, he is a case of break glass in emergency only if ever there was.

From KPF players listed throughout the thread;

Levi Casboult (27, Free Agent). Has officially put contract talks on hold until seasons end. Imagine that, we'd have a pair of Levi's.

Sam Reid (25, Free Agent). No news, but there's also been no talk of a contract extension in Sydney. Been playing well up there.

Kurt Tippett (30, Trade Target). A popular name on Nicks recently. Doubtful Sydney will be able to move him easily unless they pay a nice part of his contract. Huge concerns about his ability now.

Josh Schache (19, Trade Target). Signed a contract extension to stay with the Lions. Might revisit when he's 21-22.

Paddy McCartin/Josh Bruce. (21/25, Trade Target). Going nowhere. Both in the senior side this week. With Riewoldt on the way out, Saints will keep both these players. A trade would be impossible.

Majak Daw (26, Trade Target). Could come cheaply, especially if North are trying to squeeze out money for Martin/Kelly/Fyfe/Whoever?

its a much simpler explanation. Teams had absolutely no plan for him in his first season. Now that they know he isn't strong overhead and cant kick, they know not to give him free kicks. They also know that if his opponent runs off him he will be knackered and largely useless in 5 minutes. in short, they developed a game plan to counter him. it happens a lot where you see a pl,ayer burst onto the scene and then dissappear once clubs "figure him out".

It was a fun experiment while we were a bad side (and to his credit, he got a lot better than i thought was possible from a yank who didnt learn our game until his early 20s), but no way this kid should play in a team that has aspirations of greatness.

Not a lot of talk about McLarty and McCarthy on this thread. Both of them seem like reasonable types it seems. I am especially keen to hear how McLarty goes next year.

McCarthy is going to be a fantastic player for us once his body stabilises and he can get some continuity into his game. Compare him to Leigh Brown in what he does on the field, only he has a bigger leap and is faster around the ground.

So much harder to predict the future for McLarty. Depends how hard he works and how injury free he is. At the moment he is getting lost around the field and isn't getting to enough contests. That can all change if he can build up his fitness base. He's a bit like Sier in having the perfect body shape to play AFL. Next thing is to prove he can actually play the game of AFL footy.

Bit of talk around that the Hawks could trade Jack Gunston.

There's your 25 year old, 191cm FF to partner with Moore.

Good role player in a very good team. he's icing, not cake. In a team that's struggling he does nothing. We need players who can lift the team, not rely on the team for a lift.

He's a sensational fit imo.

25 y/o

191cm

Leading goalkicker in premiership years

Kicks straight

Has a bit of X Factor

Kicked over 50 goals in a season

We not going to be able to trade for McCartin/Bruce. Schache has signed on. Tippett is just about cooked. Nick Riewoldt is a F.A. but just too damn old now.

If no one else is available, which they pretty much aren't, I say we go for both Casboult and Reid in free agency and try to nab Gunston if he really is gettable. That gives us plenty of options to use in the forward line if we could actually afford it.

If White was to be de-listed, Id still look at taking him back with a late rookie pick. But if we were in the market for Majak Daw, I'd also try to get Aaron Mullett (Midfielder) as the steak knives. North don't use either to their potential. (IMO of course).

Sam Reid is the best fit for us imo.

Disagree.

He's a 3rd tall, not a true key forward.

He averages 1 goal a game over his career and his best return was 31 in 2012.

I'd prefer Casboult, he's a genuine KPP and contested mark

Yes, when he played CHF/FF for Sydney in a premiership season at age 20.

His career average is also affected by playing a chunk of the last few years in defence.

To say he's just a 3rd tall is a misnomer.

You do make a good point about Casboult though. Either one would be adequate placeholders while we take our first pick to the draft for a young KPF...

The problem is Casboult's goal kicking accuracy makes Travis's look sublime.
