Come on guys - this injury excuse is coming out round 1 every year?

This may well be the best side we put out all year!

Sinclair's injury is a blessing.
Wells is less than 50-50 to play in 2017 given how un-fit he still is and his recent history.

Our key-backs, key-forwards, ruck stocks and top-4 mids are all up and running.

Making excuses this early is piss-weak and emblematic of how far down we have slid this decade!

HTFup u blokes!

Agreed, if we can't back this team in to win then we have very real problems.....your never going to have your best 22 out and running every week.....we have to build depth.

If we can't win...well we are just not good enough..... and we return to the question that won't be discussed on this thread...but i am sure will be posted about 20 seconds after the final siren should we lose.

Go Pies Laughing

P.s Pies by 22 points ......Aish to get 25 and kick 2 . Moore to kick 2. Pendlebury to continue on doing what he does best.

This is probably Buckley's most important game as a coach.

Only 2 teams have made the 8 with an 0-2 start and one of those was Carlton in 2013 who benefited from the ASADA issue.

With Sydney in Sydney, St. Kilda at Etihad, Essendon and then Geelong to follow, he is staring at a horror start.

^ if the results of the first round hold good, the start does not look too bad. But I agree the game is important for Buckley. It's not curtains if we lose, but it's not good. But I reckon we'll win.

With respect to Josh Daicos, one of the reasons that he is named emergency is that we are running out of players that have the right physical preparation to be ready for AFL standard footy. The other reason is he is going to be a damn good footballer and should be in for Blair tomorrow night for mine.

We know the injuries that we have. Then there are the following:
- Scharenberg: played in the JLT and VFL practice matches, but has missed a lot of footy in the last 3 seasons, so probably needs 4-6 games in the VFL to get match fit
- Thomas and Keefe: missed 2 years of footy, see comments re Scharenberg
- Brown: just back from glandular fever
- Crocker: just back from injury, played in the VFL practice match last week
- Wills: not listed in the injury list now, but hasn't played a game at any level this season yet,
- Kirby: needs to work on his endurance and body shape.

So, we have a lot to look forward to this season when everyone is fit and firing. Let's hope the current 22 can get enough wins early in the season to capitalise on a) the return of the injured players and b) when the above-named are ready for AFL.

Without getting into silly and repetitive arguments, I would LOVE to know the last time Collingwood had a FULL list to choose from without suspensions or injuries to our top 30 players.
