What do people think of Schade's performance?

Thought he was OK for a first game up. Some good & timely spoils. I need to watch the replay to focus on him further.

Didn't notice him that much to be honest.

Nothing bad, nothing outstanding.

I guess the biggest query is is he as vanilla a defender as Brown was and purely a stopper (which can be beneficial) or can he provide more offensively.

Dunn and Keeffe probably have a few more tricks but if they leak goals more often then it's counter productive anyway.

Nothing spectacular, but he wasn't awful. Not sure in the long-term whether he's a better option for us than either Dunn or Keeffe.

Not great when ball hits the ground and seemed to have the fumbles!

One distinct moment of this scenario was when Bontempelli snapped through a goal in the third quarter which gathered momentum for their side after a fumble from Schade.

First time he has ever played at the MCG.
First game for his new club.
Dare say the biggest crowd he has played in front of.

Those things considered, I think he did ok, a pass mark for sure.

Whaaaaat? Are you kidding?
Schade had his legs taken from under him by a sliding stringer who then handpassed to Bontempelli. It was a blatant free kick ignored by the umpire.
Poor example and definitely not a fumble.

i stand corrected. Henry Schade could have a future. I must admit, i didnt think this kid has it in him. not sure who identified this talent but we picked him up pretty cheaply and i wonder if we have found our full back of the future to help Reid out back there?

Great game by the young man. I can recall more than one occasion yelling 'Go Henry' at the tv! Fantastic effort by him and the whole back line.

As I posted during the week, he has a lot of attributes of a modern AFL defender. He is quick, generally makes the right decision and uses the ball well. Thankfully, that kick across goal at the end didn't go through for a point.

Well done by Hine and his staff in getting him. Gold Coast were going to re-rookie him, but we got in first. He was struggling to get a game at Gold Coast, as Steven May and Rory Thompson are two of the better key defenders in the comp.
