So, Houston won their game and the Seahawks are about to win theirs - they lead 26 to 6 with 3 minutes to go.

Steelers thumped Miami.

Green Bay presently arm-wrestling with the Giants at Lambeau. Pack leads 14:6, with about 5 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter.

According to ESPN, in the last 2 postseasons, Packers QB Aaron Rodgers has 3 completions of passes thrown 40 yards beyond the line of scrimmage. The rest of the NFL has one.

Make that 14:13. Great call by McCarthy to run the ball on 4th and 1 at the Green Bay 41. Why not punt f%^&ing thing?

Goodnight, Giants. Coming to Lambeau field and beating Favre was unacceptable. Coming to Lambeau field and beating Rodgers once was galling - but twice was never going to happen.

Pack leads 38:13 with 2.43 to go. Rodgers has 4 TD passes (no-one threw more than 2 against the Giants during the regular season) and 362 passing yards.

Dallas it is, then.

So, here's an article link to a piece about the second-greatest quarterback of all-time, a man who can dodge, weave and make time stand still almost like Scott Pendlebury or "Twiggy" Dunne:

https://theundefeated.com/features/gunslinger-game-manager-aaron-rodgers/

The conclusion:

"I don’t know why Rodgers threw it to the back of the end zone. I don’t know how he could be that accurate. I don’t know how he could change the probabilities of the Hail Mary. Somehow his talent is stronger than the laws that govern our universe. I know you guys come to me for deeper analysis than you can find other places. So, how did he do it?

I don’t know. Magic?"

Falcons lead Seahawks 19:10 at halftime and will receive the kickoff at the start of the second half in the first of the two NFC Divisional round games. The Seahawks looked good early but, leading 10:7, gave up a safety and then couldn't get back on an even keel. The Falcons look to me like they will probably run away with this one.

And they did. Next week they will play the winner of tomorrow morning's match between Green Bay and Dallas for the NFC Championship and a place in the Super Bowl.

Houston Texans at New England coming up shortly. I expect the Pats to top 50 points in this one if they turn up to play.

Pats lead 17:13, early in the 3rd.

Two uncharacteristic turnovers by the Pats have kept Houston in touch but I still think New England will bring this home comfortably - unless the Texans' defence puts on the points or gives Osweiler repeated short fields to work with, they just don't look capable of putting on enough points to trouble Brady.

Pats lead 31:16 in the 4th. Dion Lewis has had a memorable game: 1 receiving TD, 1 98-yard kick return for a TD and 1 rushing TD. What are the odds of him passing for a TD from a gadget play?

And Green Bay performs the last rites on Dallas. Scores level at 31 apiece, 12 seconds to go, Packers on 3rd and 20 at their own 32. Extra time, you'd expect? No, number 12 throws it 36 yards to Jared Cook who steps out of bounds at the Dallas 32, whereupon Crosby puts it through for the 51-yard game-winning field goal as time expires.

Never in doubt.

No surprise. The Pack were easily better than the Cowboys.
