Mysterfying they pick spinners who can't spin the ball, then tell Zampa he doesn't get to tour because he doesn't spin the ball enough. Go figure.

This is not because Travis Head is batting well, today. I wanted him in after the Hobart debacle - instead of Maddinson.

He should be in this squad, ahead of Agar. How did Agar get a spot ahead of Jon Holland, anyway ?? Holland has the best figures for a spinner in Shield Cricket, this season. 27 wickets @ 18.48

Agar ? 16 wickets @ 28.81

Another question, re. spinners. Why is Smith bowling Head, ahead of Glenn Maxwell, in the ODIs ? Last match: Head 10 overs, 2/66. Maxwell: 0 overs.

I make this point because Maxy has been picked for the India tour and Head hasn't. Surely, you'd be taking every opportunity to get overs into Maxwell ?

All out 403.

Lyon bowled 28.5 overs for 4/162 (including their 10 & 11). 5.61 r.p.o. is not a good look

The Indians eat average off spinners for breakfast like the #3 who got the double ton.
Lyon will go for that and more against the Indian team no matter what decks they dish up.
I really thought he was going to be gone this summer. His performances were very average against average opposition.
Not convinced about O'Keefe either really. Swepson isn't a chance of playing but I like the idea of taking him along for experience
I can see us on the wrong end of some big totals unless Hazelwood and Starc reverse big time.

Yeah. Tend to agree.

Lyon's 'fair to middlin' performances in Tests has kept out a possible better prospect.

For this tour, I can't accept Agar and O'Keefe (both tradesmen-like with their inoxious left-arm ortho spin) were selected ahead of Holland, who's taking 5+ wickets a match, in Shield cricket, this season.

-----------------------

Aussies 4/110 when the game was called off.

Handscomb 37, Warner 35.

To me this the big one!
Aus versus India in India is the greatest test!!!
Bigger than the Ashes and all the rest.
I would have went with Cummins and stuff the spinners.
West Indies won there with the quicks.
Go with your strengths and not horses for courses as the Indian spinners are better than ours.
Can't wait until it starts.

Take it from me dude, you will never win a series in India without at least two really good spinners. They eat pacies for breakfast lunch and dinner. Rolling Eyes
