I'd also be interested in Anthony Morabito's plans for 2017.
As we all know, he has had 3 reconstructions on the same knee (his left). Has just turned 25 and could have been anything by now if the injuries didn't happen.
I think he's worth a VFL spot anyway.
Anyone know if Michael Still is planning on returning to VP? Also wondering if 24 year old Ryan Pendlebury will come back, with his chance of getting rookie listed by Collingwood all but gone? _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

If Ryan sticks around, there's a fair chance he gets the captaincy, with Moloney departed and Hellier likely to be out for a while with his ACL (anyone know how that went, by the way...?) _________________ I am vengeance. I am the night. I am MagpieBat. |

We've got an offer in front of delisted Hawk and 2014 Liston Trophy winner Alex Woodward:
Quote: | Paul Amy @PaulAmy375 Dec 1
Class act Alex Woodward weighs up the future. Meets Collingwood VFL today but has plenty of offers to mull over. |

Let it be so! Woodward would be a huge get! Fully fit, he is an excellent replacement for (and arguably an upgrade on) the departing Ben Moloney... _________________ I am vengeance. I am the night. I am MagpieBat. |

He would be a good recruit for the VFL side if he remains fit.
Only worry is he's succumbed to many serious injuries over the years. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

Courtesy of 35Daicos on BigFooty, it seems Jackson Starcevich (son of Craig) is coming on board:
Quote: | “In Melbourne, I started doing some more intense training trying to get prepared for the VFL season next year,” he told the NT News.
“That’s helping a lot up here. It’s been really good to get some consistency, because I haven’t had that for a long time. I’ve been training with Collingwood’s VFL side and that’s really helping the strength and conditioning side of it, and it prepared me a lot more for the heat up here.
“I trained with them all last year while playing for Shepparton and next year I’m signing on to their senior list.
“I’ve got a really good mentor down there in (head coach) Jared Rivers.” |

Key forward. Wonder if he'll be a teammate for Michael Still, or his replacement...? _________________ I am vengeance. I am the night. I am MagpieBat. |

How may spots do we have available?
Are we expecting any more departures? And have we been linked to any other players? _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Teams like ours usually have about 20 to 25 players on their VFL list, plus a few development list players (equivalent to rookies). There's a salary cap of about $250k or so that has to go around for all of them.
In terms of who we've been linked to, according to Paul Amy, we're really keen on Norwood key defender Michael Chippendale:

We have become quite good at holding onto the bulk of our players over the last few years. Whether that changes because of relationships some players may have built with Tapping that they don't have with Rivers remains to be seen, but no news is good news on the existing player front, I guess.
If we can hold the likes of Hellier/Still/Pendlebury/Kelly/Gray/Howe/Smith together, we will have done well and will have plenty of good backup/assistance for the VFL in 2017... _________________ I am vengeance. I am the night. I am MagpieBat. |
