Then why did he leave? I heard he did not get along with Pert or Bucks _________________ I am Da Man |

Extremely happy that Walsh is back. Is Walsh on a contract? Be interesting to see what happens after Gubby's suspension is over though. _________________ carn the mighty pies! |

It all comes down to his motivation for taking the job and what we have planned for 2018 and beyond as to whether this is a good move or not.
Walsh was set to scale back his role at North next season but now has taken on this job with us.
I wonder if he's only committed for season 2017 with a wait and see approach at the end of next year.
As others have stated it's all very incestuous when it comes to being appointed the football manager of Collingwood with Balme, Allan and Walsh all serving the club in past appointments. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

I doubt he'd return if he has issues with Bucks or Pert.
He is close to retirement and had a secure job at North so it's not for the money.
Either way, who cares? he's ours now. |

What a big clean out this year, players AND administration. A big coup for the club to get Gotch & Walsh back. I hope this shake up turns out well. Is balance about to be restored !?
The MCC CEO appointment is apparently being made in the new year so that may shed further light on Walshy's decision.

Mercenary is a tad hard for this bloke, but he has been too more clubs than one cares to remember. I'm sure he will do a good job, for sure, but just make sure he sees out his contract, he does get around. _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

^ Yes, dare I say a succession plan built into his contract - i.e. mentor Nick Maxwell ? |

I think Maxy has higher aspirations. He said he wants to be CEO! _________________ 'Collingwood are the Bradmans of Football'

We could do far worse, so considering the difficult circumstances we've been under I'm very content with this appointment.

Is it me or does it look like Geoff Walsh hasn't slept in about 5 years and looks to have lived off $2 7 Eleven coffee? _________________ " Ohhh Banksy and out comes the Note Book".
