In my oppinion, no one is the problem... Just likely some disagreement going on over the recruitment of Gubby.

Who knows what goes on behind closed doors... Maybe someone pulled rank and brought Gubby on board.

Let's hope he's cleared and everything can continue on its merry way...!

Pretty obvious that Gubby was Ed's Captains Pick.
From what I'm hearing there is a fair bit of disenchantment toward Pert and to a lesser Extent Ed.
Only relaying what I've been told.

I dare say he's in trouble... 4 years maximum sentence is nothing to be sneezed at. Not many cases of this in AFL so far, so could be looking to make an example of key people involved. & he wouldve been at the helm of the decision process.

ASADA is apparently seeking all evidence? Hang on a minute, one would have presumed they had that in the first place. This is one screw up after the other and it's not about incompetence, it's basically the AFL investigating itself. The AFL run GWS and anyone employed or appointed by GWS was in fact employed by the AFL. In saying that it makes the AFL guilty for not showing due diligence over their employees. If I leak secrets in my job, my employer pays the fine and loses contracts. Sorry, we will have to suspend the AFL for 4 years so no footy until 2022.

When will the AFL realise that the running of it's game is compromised by it's relation to ASADA. The whole screwing up of the Essendon situation is alienating supporters to a point where not only Essendon supporters have lost interest in the game, but other supporters of the AFL as well. For the first time in ages I didn't attend the ANZAC game on principle because of the compromised composition of the Essendon team. It's about time the AFL ditched ASADA and work more closely with the AFLPA to construct it's own set of rules for players caught taking performance enhancing substances.

My understanding is that operating outside of ASADA will cost the AFL all government funding, which is a substantial figure.

This situation stunk long before these allegations arose.

Why Balme was seemingly made a scapegoat for another wasted season and his role degraded is beyond me given his record at Geelong and the relatively short nature of his tenure at the club.

Seems like Ed is willing to pass the buck to anyone but himself, Pert or Buckley for our current predicament.

Isn't this the same thing as what Gubby did?

Allan (and for that matter Lambert) has agreed to a 12 month ban. Whitfield gets 6 months...

Probably Marcus Wagner.

Quote:
Collingwood’s board met on Tuesday night and considered contingency plans which include the potential elevation of current football operations manager Marcus Wagner.

Wagner is seen as a rising star of AFL football administration and if Allan is suspended would immediately take on a greater role.

On September 1 football operations manager Wagner had oversight of the club’s VFL and women’s team added to his responsibilities.

The internal view is that if Allan is forced aside he could easily step up either in a temporary or fulltime capacity.

It does seem a little weird that the administrators take a year, but Whitfield only 6 months. I would have thought he was equally complicit and probably breached the code more than Allan or Lambert. Is this a deal for GWS being whistleblowers?
