Chris Mayne - Welcome to jumper number 16.

So far, we think Wells to #3

Vacancies to date 3/16/17?/27/34/36.

Who knows - Mitch Brown might land in #16?

We'll have numbers 3, 15, 16, 17, 19, 27, 32, 34, 35, 36, 41, 44, 45. Italics = not officially off the list yet.

We'll have Mayne, Wells, Sier getting a new number.

Players like Maynard (37), Cox (46), Smith (40), Oxley (43), Crocker (39) could be looking at a different number going forward.

Of course all this will change when more players come and go before Thursday.

Well Sier would have to get a new number of course. Not to say it will be below 35 either... he'd want to get a game in 2017 i'd suggest.
Can't recall the last time our 1st draft pick didn't suit up in the seniors the following year.
I'd like to see Maynard retain #37 personally, make it his own.

And yes, the next 4 days should shed some light on the numbers game!

So: 3/15/16/26/27/32/34/35*/36/44?/45

Now that's a decent list turnover.

Callum Brown to 26 will be a soda. Enjoy it lad!

And Marsh retained I presume?

Apologies if this has been raised in prior discussions.... however with Marley Williams gone and the #26 jumper now vacated there is a good chance that Callum Brown will be first pick for us in the draft. Surely we aren't going to make the kid wear #35 and Daicos wear a different number?
Seems perfectly aligned for both kids to wear their fathers numbers, so long as they want to.

Common sense Collingwood!

We are hoping of course to see some nostalgia at play here.
Expecting to see the kids get their fathers jumpers, and move the first draft pick to #36 now, as a tribute to Swan's services to the club.

So officially, we have numbers 3, 15, 16, 17, 26, 27, 32, 34, 35, 36, 41, 44 & 45 all available.

We'll have Mayne, Wells, WHE, Dunn, Sier getting a new number (along with new draftees), and players like Maynard (37), Cox (46), Smith (40), Oxley (43) and Crocker (39) possibly in for a change.

This'll heat up now that we have official landed Daics.

You'd think Brown will take 26 for sure. With Wells rumoured to take #3 and Mayne rumoured to take #32.

So officially, we have numbers 3, 15, 16, 17, 26, 27, 32, 34, 35, 36, 41, 44 & 45 all available. With Mayne, Wells, WHE, Dunn, Sier, C Brown, Daicos, Kirby & McLarty all to receive a number.

And again, players like Maynard (37), Cox (46), Smith (40), Oxley (43) and Crocker (39) possibly in for a change.

I think if we take Will Minson in the RD, he may opt for #27, the number he wore at the Bulldogs for 12 years.

I think 32 should be reserved for our longest-serving premiership forward on the list from time to time, so that would mean that 11 would be freed up.

Otherwise, it would probably be sensible to let them wear the number of the pick they were selected with: letting the Second Coming wear 57 might help to create realistic initial expectations and give the boy a chance to ease into things. He could be given the 35 after he kicks 6 goals in a quarter or rejects a massive offer to join Carlton (or misses a season or so with stress fractures in his feet).

I would be rather weird to have son of Daicos not in 35 and Browny Jnr not in 26.. unless they themselves didn't want them ala Gary Ablett Jnr. Don't care really, up to the club and the kids.

If Brown and Daicos are happy with it, I want to see them wear #26 and #35 respectively.

It would be fitting.
