Wednesday October 19 - NAB AFL restricted free agency matching offer three-day period ends
Thursday October 20, 2pm – NAB AFL Trade Period closes
Tuesday November 1 - NAB AFL delisted player free agency period (1) begins
Tuesday November 8 - NAB AFL delisted player free agency period (1) closes
Thursday November 10 - NAB AFL delisted player free agency period (2) begins
Friday November 18 - NAB AFL delisted player free agency period (2) closes
Friday November 25 - NAB AFL National Draft
Saturday November 26 - NAB AFL delisted player free agency period (3) begins
Sunday November 27, 2pm - NAB AFL delisted player free agency period (3) closes
Monday November 28 4pm - NAB AFL Pre-season and Rookie Draft

Thanks Presti - lot of people on edge about if they will have a job and if so, where it will be. Can't be easy, bit of a circus really. Not sure the "off season" is the right term for it. Footy never seems to be off.

Does anyone know the date the AFL will release the 2017 fixtures? I'm sure I read on a website that they'll be released by the end of October?
All I could find regarding next season are the following dates:
KEY DATES
Round one (potential date) – Thursday 23rd March 2017
Easter Thursday 13th April -Monday 17th April 2017
Anzac Day Friday 21at April – Tuesday 25th April 2017
Round 23 (potential date) – Friday 25th August - Sunday 27th August 2017
Week one – Finals – Friday 8th September - Sunday 10th September 2017
AFL Grand Final – Saturday 30th September 2017 |

Can someone please enlighten me on why the three separate delisted trade periods? If it is because clubs have not delisted everyone by a certain date, then maybe it is time to set a delist deadline and then have just one delisted free agency period??

Well, I guess there is a need for one after the draft, with some clubs still looking to fill some leftover gaps.
I dont know why there is 2 different ones between the end of trade week and the draft?

Tuesday saw the end of the first delisted free agency period.
However, another opens today and finishes on Friday the 18th.
After the draft (Nov 25), there is the final free agency period which lasts for 2 days.
Still some windows open for disregarded players before the rookie draft.
