Not good.

Dave the Man has just gone on Big Footy repeating the above post and citing Matty.

Dave! The post is a week old. Bloody long flight for Ed if he's still flying back.

You'd better get back on Big Footy and explain your stuff up.

Very worrying if the media reports are accurate. Surely our board wouldn't have hired Gubby if they felt a ban was probable.

Just have to wait and see how this plays out, but I hope this doesn't prove to be disruptive one way or another.

Either way, doubt we'll see him playing in 2017 so we'd better get used to the idea.

Yes. It was certainly good recruiting to get WHE so we have a speedy outside runner in case Gubby can't get on the park.

Now did anyone know that a visit by testers was possible? Isn't that supposed to be secret?

Exactly. The AFL leaks information and is easily corrupted by the media.

My understanding is the story broke within hours after the Club announced Gubby was coming on board. Forensic testing of the player and text messages had already been underway for a while, so why was leaked
at this specific time and not well before hand when the investigation started? My opinion is the AFL simply cannot afford to have GWS tarnished but Collingwood, oh well, they're good for it.

Gubby had already forewarned Eddie & Club's due diligence ascertained there was little to worry about. He has the best lawyer available so we'll see how far the AFL want to take it. Could be years before a final verdict.

Whitfield's former girlfriend is set to form a key part of proceedings if Whitfield and the two officials are charged under the AFL's anti-doping code.
If this was held in a court in front of a jury the prosecution would be seeking and agreement of a penalty as they know they could not convince a jury of guilt. As it's ASADA there is no need, they are guilty. Tell us the penalty so the club can move on in appointing maybe Paul Roos.

I think players expect a visit 24/7 which is why they need to notify of whereabouts.

Its been reported that no tests were scheduled for that player. How would the media know this? Answer - the minions at AFL

Hope they own up and deal with it like ripping off a bandaid. Do the crime, do the time and move on. Don't want an Essendon 3 years + albatross around our necks thanks.

Caroline Wilson on the Whitfield saga

(BTW & I know it's a big ask but can we address the issues she is raising please not Wilson?)

http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/questions-mount-in-lachie-whitfield-saga-as-key-figures-stick-to-girlfriend-defence-20161024-gs9lyi.html

I thought the issues re the girlfriend & Whitfield having a migraine from the distance of not knowing, sounded awfully like the dog tore up my homework type of excuse. I would be finding a different lawyer.

A couple of questions.

If Pert does go down what will that mean for Ed & Perty?

Is it really a Collingwood issue? Or a GWS issue? Of course we have Gubby on our payroll now, after the fact, but if he cops a ban so be it. Maybe some implications regarding the diligence of our Board, but could it really be something similar to the Essendon circus for Collingwood?
