Maxy being groomed for Test team ?

Interesting developments re. Glenn Maxwell.

1. Dropped from the Oz ODI team to play Sri Lanka.

2. Picked for Oz A as a replacement for Jon Holland.

3. Bowled way more overs in the current Oz A v. SA A 4 day unofficial Test match than the chosen spinner, Mitchell Swepson.

Was the captain, Peter Handscomb, asked to give him lots of overs ?

I reckon the selectors would love to see him in the Test team, but, atm, he's unlikely to oust Mitch Marsh or Nathan Lyon but could be the second spinner, if/when needed.

He bowled 13 good overs, yesterday for 0/18. Has bowled another 10, today, for 1/23.

Will be interesting to see 1. Where he bats and 2. How he bats.
