Well DTM I am not convinced that Treloar is a top elite talent.
Last night Wells tore us to pieces.
The guy has the X factor.
Don't think Treloar has much X factor at all.
He racks up a heap of disposals but so far he doesn't hurt the opposition.
The last 2 weeks have been a perfect example of what I am talking about.
Last night with one kick he couldn't even make 40m.
We gave up 2 top 10 draft picks for him.
That is a huge price.
We traded out of the top talent of the 2016 draft for Treloar, Aish and Howe.
So next year we will not get much in terms of new highly rated talent.
I don't see it as being very smart.
Average trade at the moment in my opinion.

So you rather take Punt on the Draft instead of Getting Known AFL Quality AFL Players.

Treloar was Huge in the 1st Half of the Season. Aish is just coming good after Poor Start. Howe also been very good. I am happy with last years Trade Period.

I don't think it was Dumb to do.

I think we under peformed where we expected we thought we where

White's value to the Club goes far beyond what he contributes on the field...who do you think got the netball and women's AFL teams deal through?
Pert? Don't make me laugh

Dave, those three blokes have earned their pay, and honoured their reputations in 2016.
The lack of improvement in the other senior players is literally horrifying.
Those players can take as much blame for this complacency as the inept coaching staff.
I thought we made enough changes at the end of 2015 to correct things.
Evidently I was wrong.

Blair with one year extension.... i just cannot fathom this.

Maybe i should just go fishing for couple of years before I resurface to see how collingwood is going.

You are a charmed man indeed thompsoc. You refer to one of our greatest ever players and our current coach as a 'fu..k...wit' and the Mod Team doesn't bat a collective eye lid let alone <snip...> you. Very strange times indeed in Nick's in 2016.

Need to keep my emotions more in check.

Blair would get a game at most clubs, amd he is coming off his best ever season. He is actually starting to make goals out of nothing - i can think of at least four goals this year where he has sold candy in traffic and nailed the goal under pressure, or snapped truly from a very tight angle. He's 26 and probably at his peak.

White is an enigma, but he is a handy spare parts player. He can go missing, but he can also influence games. His best, in my opinion, has been seen down back, and i hope he gets to play there more in the next few weeks. He'll screw up down there as he continues to learn, but we should persist.

Glad we have re-signed both of them. We need to keep our team together and build shared experience.

Good signings by the club. Both players will at a minimum give us solid depth. Could well spell the demise of the Sack and Macaffer and Tooves though as we'll only carry a few of these fringe depth types into 2017.

I wasn't aware that "enigma" meant "overpriced useless waste of space that shows up the dearth of vision of our recruiting strategy". That must be a modern usage? Laughing

The guy didn't actually touch the ball again on Friday night until the game was effectively over. He has done this repeatedly over his Collingwood career - just disappears for entire halves of football at a time. Not just be "poor", or "down" or "unlucky" or "ineffective" but actually not participate in the contest for an hour or more at a time. We say that occasionally about players who haven't done much in particular matches - but it's almost always hyperbole, whereas with White it is literally true, over and over again. In the old days, we used to say a player was "unsighted" when he'd been thrashed by an opponent. When we say it about White, we mean that no-one has actually seen him, except as a name on the team sheet, and that we'd actually be pleased to see him get thrashed, not because we'd like that any better but because we'd know then that he'd actually participated in a contest, however ineffectively.

My mate Blair
Kicked 13 goals this year.
On track to finish well under 20 goals for the 5th year in a row!!!!!!!!!!
My god, he is a goal kicking machine.
And this from a player that rarely if ever misses a game!
No defensive run!
No goal kicking king!
No front and square!

No team would want this dud.
But as usual the club apologists make up fantasy stories about his value.
I remember certain posters who reckon he is just a little bit below Poppy from Hawthorn in terms of value.
Popuolo has nearly 30 goals to his credit this year.
That is more than what Blair kicked in both the 2013 and 2014 seasons.
Eddie Betts kicked more goals last year than what Blair did in 4 years.

Why you say That. I reckon a New Coach would get Rid of Cloke as he would want to Go Forward with Younger Players

Or the new coach might take the same view that others recently have: 'I'm not here to end you, I'm here to extend you'...

The fishing thread is this way...

I am glad to see though that General is in better spirits today and that the Sack Buckley and Back Buckley factions have found something over which they can bond and enjoy each others company. Fantastic! Smile

Bloody rude, you gave us nothing in the VFL gameday chat thread over the weekend, now we haven't got a clue who played well, who didn't, who should be promoted, and now you're culling our fishing chat... some just struggle with power...

It was a bye weekend. I was busy having a life.

The fish are biting over in VPT though, so best sling your hook over there...
