The greatest thing is that Marsh shows the type of leadership qualities that we are desperately short of at the moment. Provided his form and health holds up we have someone who in the longer term can replace the role that Maxwell played in the side. At the other end of the ground we have Moore who can lead the forward line. To me the four most important individuals at the club over the next five years will be Marsh, Moore, Treloar and Adams. Our fortunes will depend on these four guys.

Astute. Watched Marsh a number of times near the interchange at VFL matches. He is really pouring himself into becoming a leader. He has great voice. Just going to take time to smooth those raw edges. With him, Howe and Reid next year we have some seriously good intercept marks who are athletic. Marsh is super quick.

Recruited because of his X factor and his pace.
Done 2 hammies so far and with Collingwoods luck I wonder
when the next is.
I like him but such early days so who knows,
1. whether he makes it.
2. whether he will be better than average.

Great to see that as usual that you are focusing in on the positives. This guy was a late draft pick. A pick that rarely results in a successful AFL career. I personally think he will make it.

Massive upside and starting to look as though he will make it. Give him AFL games but make sure he qualifies for VFL finals. Bucks has said a couple of times now that Marsh needs to learn what positions he should be in. This is in contrast to Smith who has followed instructions and been in the correct positions from day 1 earning praise from the coach. No doubt some guys find it harder to deal with the more structured gameplans these days.

Anyway, I think Marsh has improved again this year and is knocking on the door of best 22. He may be the guy that lets us release Howe forward in 2017.
Bloody hell, I've put my nether regions on the line here. I have been a fan of his "upside" since seeing his highlights real in the WAFL Colts. His performance last night having 17 disposals, 8 marks, 5 rebound 50's at 100% disposal efficiency was his most effective game since debuting.
I did that one night.....the rest of that evening is something I'd like to forget, but lawyers can be so persistent.......

100% disposal efficiency against Freo tends to suggest otherwise.

Donny I have watched Jono very carefully in the last 3 years. In particular, at VFL level.
He can really butcher the ball.
On friday night he was very very careful in the way he delivered the ball.
Often it was a short handball or kick.

Love Marshy and it's fairly obvious we have something special on our hands which will only get better with more experience but Rance is a genuine star of the game, so it's a big ask.

If he's anything like Alex Rance in the future then I'll be over the moon, but he has massive upside which is promising in its own right.

He is definitely a player we need to keep pumping games into if he has bad days from time to time.

He'd need to put on 10kg of muscle to be like Rance, and that wouldn't help his speed.

In the backline he's a HBF or third tall, not a KPP

I have no doubt that he will the equal or better than Rance.

Seems more like a Hurley type. Goes flat out, takes the game on, hates getting beaten and prone to injury.

Hopefully he's doing the ballet training with Reid.

He's got great potential, but in truth he's played just one really good game. Hopefully he plays a few more like that over the coming weeks and develops more confidence in his kicking and decision-making.

agreed - but with slightly better hair

For him to become like Rance- he would need to start door knocking a bit more and refuse any blood transfusions. Wink
