No.
He's lost half a yard of pace, but more than makes up for that with his positioning and general footy smarts. |
Quite a while ago I had him as the most important player we had on the list but now what we're seeing in Ben is a very good player and still one of our most important player so to you km who is? Treloar? |
ST - mate I was agreeing that he's our most important player! _________________ "I am a great sage, equal of heaven.

When going. Gun. Second most intercept marks in comp, granted ball is down there a bit at the minute. Imagine backline without him. _________________ "With us or against us, simple" |

Ben Reid is finished. Should be traded. Will never play again.
How many pages of this board were dedicated to the absolute certainty that this was true?
He is certainly not out of the woods from a body perspective, but boy its great to see him out there. One of the best readers of the ball the game has seen. _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk .......

I'd say I had fears about his future if he kept on getting injured, never doubted he could be a good player for us. I would say I was more worried that with all those setbacks he may have pulled the pin.
Quite glad he hasn't though and he's getting game time and playing well. _________________ Ðavâgé

Reid is so good that Browny actually lifts when he plays with him.
What a star! |

Unlike Goldsack he actually can string a whole season of games together after he frees himself of a major injury. |

One of the few shining lights this year, I never wanted him traded but admit, I thought he was shot after the last little lay off. _________________ Formally frankiboy and FrankieGoesToCollingwood. |

Yeah, reminds me what a silly music business honcho said to the Beatles manager, Brian Epstein, in the early 60s, he said, "I'm sorry Brian, but we just don't think your new group has much to offer us, we don't like their sound, and anyway groups with guitars are on the way out now."
As for Ben, he has been absolutely fantastic. ! _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

Does this mean we aren't stoning the fitness and medical staff? I've been stockpiling packets of gravel and I've got a lovely collection of flats. |

Ballet training has fixed Reid, not our medical staff, as was recently covered in the media:
http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/teams/collingwood/how-ballet-saved-the-career-of-collingwoods-ben-reid/news-story/46aabb8362dd4876c457c9f80fbd02ae
In fact all our medical staff are good at doing is handing out Voltaren, injecting our players with prednisolone, and sending them off for surgery. I was shocked to hear Clokey had an epidural to "fix" a slipped disc in his lower back that was hitting a nerve and causing loss of feeling in his leg. He was back playing just 2 weeks later!
How about actually trying to find out the root cause of the problem and address the issue accordingly. Footy clubs are notorious for just wanting to selfiishly "get players on the park" without having concern for the long-term health consequences for these kids. I'd like to think our footy club is different, but I highly doubt it.
For what it's worth, I also believe Moore's body is nowhere near developed enough to be playing key position. Think back to Josh Fraser. We are a dumb footy club, and until we get smarter we will continue to under-achieve. |
