^^^ They did the same thing to my daughter's computer two days ago, right in the middle of preparing a couple of her VCE SACS. I accepted the terms for her because I was fearful she would lose her work if I didn't. She now has the work and an operating system which doesn't support some of the compulsory software for her year 12.

Just upgraded to windows 10 last night. I swear I didn't agree to it. Totally p15sed with it. My biggest issue is that my printer will not connect. It recognizes it, but wont connect. Any ideas?

By the way, I'm a total nong as far as computers go.
You will have to download the windows 10 drivers from the printer manufacturer.

Thanks muchly..... it worked!!!! Very Happy Very Happy

Further to Tannin's post on page 8, I installed and ran GWX Control Panel. Does what it says on the tin. Deleted a few updates myself (the ones highlighted in the articles Tannin has linked to) and no more dramas.

Whilst I run linux on my own laptop, my wife bought a new one with 8.1 but I have to use it because of my iphone, which for me is primarily a glorified jukebox Laughing

If only the iphone would talk to linux and I'd be rid of both Apple & Microsoft! Anyone know of a music player that talks to linux?

Microsoft has push through an upgrade that will automatically upgrade you to Windows 10 unless you cancel the upgrade. My view is I will stick with the stability of Windows 7.

It's too bad we have to use a monopoly like Microsoft.

Microsoft is forcing people onto Windows 10 by making updating windows 7 and 8 impossible (Conspiracy Theory). Shocked Massive issues with the downloads along with errors galore. I am now running windows 10 on my desktop. I built up a new desktop and ran windows 7, after issue after issue and plenty of research i upgraded the OS and only did this as I had nothing in my PC so it was basically a clean install. At the moment I have no issues and I believe that is because the System is completely new hardware. The main issue is my partner struggles with change.

If you try to fix updating errors with Windows 7 you are wasting your time. I spent a week trying all the fixes and nothing works. Then I found the conspiracy theory page and everything they wrote about i agreed with.

Wish I'd read this before I left home. I tried to put my MYOB file on my laptop as I've done many times, and I can't get the MYOB programmes to match. I've tried and tried to get 10 on my home PC, going to pay my tech guy to come and do it, my laptop is asking me every time I turn it on. It's annoying.

Do a search on "No Windows 10". There is a little program you can switch that on and off. My laptop does the same thing. Mind you it says I can put windows 10 in it but you can't. :/

I've been running 10 for ages now and no issues. A lot like 7 and a lot better than 8.
