I wanted a crew cab, or a space cab or a ute but I ended up getting a tray.
I suspect McDog isn't going to like riding on the back (while the Missus is in the front) so I'll have build him a dog box to sit in.
It's not often she's brave enough to get my car so it won't happen often.
If he doesn't like it he can take it up with the Missus!...good luck with that! |
So what'd ya get?
I hope you didn't get my dads old Datsun 1 tonner, you just about needed to start and stop that thing Fred Flintstone style. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Datsun, wow I haven't seen a Datsun 1 tonner (on the road) in decades.
I settled on a 15 year old 4X4 Holden Rodeo.
The engine's good, interior is immaculate (that won't last), all the panels are straight and it has a radio that doesn't slide across the dash when I take a corner, so it's an improvement (in every wae) on the old.
I figured a tray is a lot more useful to me than a dinky twin-cab tub but I'm worried about...
a. the dog sitting on the tray
b. the dog sittingt on the front seat (long claws)
c. will he settle for a custom made dog-box?
Oh well, life is a compromise (as my dog is about to learn).
I could have spent more but we're saving for a to move up the coast (near Eden) so I took the cheaper option.
Isuzu make good trucks, hopefully I got a good one. |

Good luck with it, just don't go overboard building the dog box on the back. You want to keep room for wood and stuff on the back rather than build a weekender.
The old man sold his ute not long before he died bit over 10 years ago once the penny dropped that I'd disabled it and he wasn't going to be allowed to drive again. Sold it to a cocky for a paddock basher.
By geezus he got some work into that thing though, bugger the Hilux, that thing was unbreakable. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

When I installed the new TV and was stuffing round with the amp and cleaning out cupboards on the weekend I accidently turfed a wire coil that was the antenna for the FM radio.
Nothing but static. I like having the radio on in the morning and on weekends rather than TV, so I was just a tad pissed off.
Anyway, just went out scratching through the trailer and all the junk and I found it. Re-connected it and works just like a bought one. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Don't you have a massive box of old wires and cables etc? I reckon I still have the power lead from our first PC! Nothing like a bit of dumpster (trailer) diving!
Well the team I stopped coaching last season on a Monday because junior was going to leave, but then Changed her mind, made it through to the next round of the finals last night, played well, and I went to watch the Tuesday team (lost but get another chance!) and one of the Monday mums confided that all is not well! Would I take the team back? I said I'd love to have it back, but I can't just take it! She said she told you you could. I said yeah but it wouldn't feel right. She says the head coach ain't happy either, she wants you to Have it back too! Other kids have told me too, but yeah, that's not me. But Nice to be wanted and missed!
Been down lately, feel like I just climbed out of a cocoon! Nice to be back! Cheers xx _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

I know you loved coaching but I also remembering how happy you were when you hung up the Dunlop Volley's last season.
I reckon it's time for Junior to fly on her own (and the new coach) and let you get on with the more important things* in life.

Nah, I probably needed a break, but I wasn't happy, what made me happy was going out winning a grand final we had no right to be in, let alone win!
As for the more important things in life, nah, I ain't done yet, my kids are still the most important thing in my life.
Gold class with junior last weekend, was awesome, we just got our legend memberships today, any moment I spend with them, i still treasure. My eldest came back to me, it took a few years, but I can truly say we are now friends. I count my blessing every day.
But yes, thanks to a very special friend, I do have a bottle of American Honey in the freezer! Been a long day chasing up sign writing and methanol! Think I might just have a drop! Scotch, not fuel! Cheers _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

Just about hit the wall today, been trying to get someone from IT to come over and set up 10 new replacement PC's for 2 weeks. Had a chat with the boss of the techs today and he gave me a roll call of all the shit they're trying to get done which I appreciated, and why they were unlikely to get to me until next week.
Fairy nuff. Still pissed but I get his point.
Then I get a call from one of the techs, he's in the area and could call in and maybe do some on the way home and could I please help a bit by getting them out of the boxes to save him some time.
Can I do that? Shit yeah.
Tie off, start opening boxes.
2 hours later, he arrives and I have 6 PC's not just unpacked but set up, all plugged together, all he has to do is turn em on and configure them.
I also went to each of the people who was getting a replacement who was at work, copied their desktop, internet favourites, shortcuts and everything else they wanted from the hard drive to the network drive and had the network file paths for the non-standard applications they need written down for him.
He was stoked, all he needed to do was configure the software and I told him I'd manage copying back the necessary stuff to the hard drives on Monday.
I was stoked cos that meant he would be able to do the 6 I really needed set up in the 2 hours he had, rather than only a few of them.
Good afternoon made even better by deciding to enact the POETS protocol. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |
