hockey is advocating a rise in the price of stamps from 70c to $1. auspost are also wanting to degrade service to a 3 day delivery service standard. at what point do you allow a company like this to disappear because they are either not cost effective or cannot innovate or evolve fast enough to meet the needs of today's society?

Maybe the CEO should take a pay cut. He's bought his 19 year old daughter 3 brand new cars in the past 18 months. He has far too much money....

Probably at the point where hardly anyone sends letters anymore because it's faster and easier to use email - i.e., five years ago.

Hockey, in this instance, is right. But - as Culprit says - he's undoubtedly got it in mind to flog the business off to his rich mates. And that bit he isn't saying yet. This is step one. Step two is to make a Blood Oath not to sell it. Step three, after he has lied his way back into office, is to sell it.
No cuts to the ABC, no changes to pensions, no cuts to SBS, no cuts to health, no cuts to education, no sale of Australia Post.

I'd be careful what you wish for..... Private owners would jack up the price of parcels as that is a large part of the business. |

Aus Post have to take some of the blame.
We use them at work and the amount of **** ups they make would blow your mind. But I'm not sure if it's Aus post or their outlets. |

I've always found it remarkable that you can stick on a stamp or two and an envelope can find it's way into a letter box on the other side of Australia or half way around the world for such a little amount of money,
I think they do a pretty good job given the amount of mail they deal with each and every day.
People bitch about everything these days.
