Maybe time to give Witts a couple of weeks as the sole ruckman?

Maynard should come back in, with Marsh moving to a key defence role with Brown's expected suspension. Although we're out of the finals race I reckon we need to take a scalp of the Tigers and/or Cats to give our players confidence going into next year that we can beat top teams.

Every chance to win this one. We had a couple of flat games but are now back. We're not working together as a unit the way we'd like, so the best I think we'll see is another close one which could go either way in the dying minutes. Unfortunately for us, so far this year, it's gone the other way on every occasion. We're 0-6 in games decided by less than 2 goals, so we are definitely due!

Can't make the finals so we'll probably come out and give them a hammering.

I'm sure Hine does to see what trade value our 1st and 2nd picks have.

Time now to play the kids - match committee went too early on playing the kids for mine and lost us a couple of games as a result. Losses don't matter now and we need to get games into kids and see who has got the goods.

DeGoey
Moore
Scharenberg
Kennedy
Maynard
Marsh

should all play remaining games if fit. Maybe blood Goodyear and Manteit as well.

Any senior players needing surgery finish the season now.

Reid, Greenwood and Sinclair should also play as they have missed so many games.

Seedsman should play loose man to increase his trade value.

If Bucks wants to see who can go in the midfield (eg Elliott, Williams) then now is the time to give them maximum time in the middle.

Our finals chances are nearly gone but I want us to still finish the season off strongly if it's possible and set out to ruin the finals hopes of other sides plus the supporters need something to cheer about so let's hope we're aiming for a victory. The worst thing we can do is give up and in the process developing a losing mentality.

I'm not sure about what the potential line-up will be but I'm predicting Nathan Brown will miss through suspension so that vacancy in the backline will need to be filled, unless we decide to switch Reid back to defence but I like seeing Reid up forward however.

I'd like to see Scharenberg, Kennedy and Maynard comeback into the side as we need to pump games into the young kids and fast-track their development.

We lost to Richmond earlier in the year and I don't think I could handle seeing them beat us again! The last time they beat us twice in a season dates back to 2001 so hopefully that streak continues this weekend.

We're rightful underdogs but we're definitely a chance to win if we can hit our targets, apply heavy pressure like we did against Sydney and most importantly convert our opportunities in front of goal when they arise which is something that has killed us this year especially in close matches where we've fallen short.

I'm not suggesting that Scharenberg is heading back to Adelaide or that the Pies know that now, but from all reports, his performance in the VFL on the weekend was rather insipid. Not at all like a player determined to break into the senior team. So the only defender I'd be looking at recalling would be Maynard. The only other question really is whether to stick with Grundy, after his best game for the season, or to give Witts a crack, after he was listed as BOG in the VFL.

This was DTM's assessment of Shazza RB.

"Schrarnberg was good and good to see him have bit more pace and longer kicking."

Some disparity in views/opinions/judgements?

DTM also said that Witts got thrashed in the ruck, when the stats showed he won 37 to 20 hitouts! Go figure. Rolling Eyes
