Still in the 5-12 range most of us projected preseason.

Most likely 8 to 12 at best now.

Haven't looked too closely at what teams above us have in their remaining draw so I think our % is still a positive. Crows and Cats getting 2 each could be an issue.

Far out you'd think we were Carlton with the way this thread is titled!

We are where most people expected us to be at the start of the year. Some posters had us finishing in a finals spot whilst many others had us in the (9-12) bracket and this is what's being reflected now on the ladder.

There's still six more games remaining and plenty of time to get ourselves back up the ladder. We've faced difficult opponents in the last five weeks and we've clearly ascertained that we're not a top 5/6 side but we're still capable of playing finals this year if we produce our best performances over the next few weeks. A good start is to get back to winning ways against Melbourne next weekend.

Even if we don't play finals this year it's not the end of the world. We will regroup and reload next year with twenty two games more experience under our belt from this year for many of the youngsters developing at the moment.

Finals was always going to be a bonus for a young playing group like ours as finals experience is invaluable as 2006-2009 demonstrates with our subsequent success in 2010.

Personally I feel those involved at the club genuinely believe we are good enough to play finals this season as do I.

Remember our draw was easier than last year on paper at least and injuries less substantial.

Our group is young but no younger than the dogs while the team that lost to Richmond was slightly older.

No real excuses for mine outside of not being good enough.

A good summation.

Yep. Cue in the rack. Time to focus on "list management" and the draft.

Wasn't that evident when they dropped the forward line and played Moore, instead?

A great summary. We have had an easier draw and fewer injuries than last year. We were gifted a soft draw to build confidence but that's now evaporated.

Eddies fury at the end of the game shows that he has higher expectations of this side.

No. Moore kicked five goals last week I'm sure we were hoping for more than just giving him another taste of senior footy,

Only ONE side can win the bloody flag, hold up that cup, if you make the finals and miss it, its a reasonable but WASTED season anyway, so who really gives a shit where we now finish. ?? Just play all our kids, get a good draft early pick and re build for next season. Such is Life. !

Every game is a 50/50 at best from here, favorites against the Blues you'd think, but would anyone be surprised if we lost a low scoring slog against the Dees next week?

Well, even assuming they thought Moore was good for another 5 against Melbourne (and, frankly, I doubt they were that optimistic), who else was expected (as distinct from hoped) to kick a goal?

Even if Moore kicked 5 we still would've lost.
