Anyway, happy stuff?

I recently got sent a home bowel cancer check kit. Not sure how I qualified or if a lot of others got them or what, but I did what it said to do.

Got the results from pathology, all clear. At least all clear of what they tested for. Happy with that.

2nd time this year I've got a free health screen option, had a letter 6 months ago to arrange a free (bulk billed) survey masquerading as a health check. Apparently I was one of the minority of blokes who took it up.

All those racist Poms booing Mitch Johnson is disgraceful.

Hopefully the ECB will follow the lead of the AFL and ask them all to stop and the English media will lash them mightily.

What colour were the booing poms?

Who knows. Even all the Pakis, Indians and West indians who've moved there take on a pasty complexion after a few years.

And considering that "Pom" now includes Welsh, Irish, Scots, Sth Africans, Kiwis, Australians and anyone else who meets the ECB requirements of being able to find England on a map of Great Britain and therefore get selected for the "English" cricket team, colour is basically irrelevant. Wink

Didn't they play the South African national anthem a few years before the final test match Australia v England at The Oval?

Red headed chicks netball team won their semi final today.
Only had 7 players, but they played one of their best 4 quarter games ever - they usually have at least qtr in a game where they loose the plot.

Red headed chick is our best defender but coach put her into centre for game.
Opposition centre was quicker but she used her height and court positioning to blitz it.

Next week is prelim, not expecting a win but if they play like today they will have a shot.

Just following on from this...

Thanks for the heads up! It's my favourite time of year, though I rarely post about it much here because, me and WPT aside, this is a bit of a cinephile-free zone.

But now you've brought it up, I guess I should pass on the good news: I'm participating in this upcoming festival's "critics campus", an event run over the course of a week in which a small group of aspiring film critics get expert tuition, a free pass to see as many films as they like, a hotel room in the city and their daily reviews published in The Age. Needless to say, I can't wait.

Here's my profile:

I just checked into the hotel room an hour ago, after dropping Lola and baby Ingmar at the airport earlier this morning (they're spending the week in Queensland with her family). Just talked to her on the phone; seems the flight went really well and Ingmar didn't cry once. Plus, I've managed to see a film already - Cemetery of Splendour by Thai director Apichatpong Weerasethakul.

It's going to be a good week, I suspect. Smile

Sentence is to be strapped to a chair and made to watch every film starring any of Sylvester Stallone, Chuck Norris and Steven Seagal.

Cool
