Was at the vfl today and spoke to Daveron. He actually is a great guy and have spoken to him a couple of times at vfl recently. Very honest and up front, unlike the blackmores injury update! Lol

Anyway he gave me this run down:

Reid- corkie worse than first thought. He said that he won't be playing next week and unlikely for a couple. So it isn't just a corkie as suggested rather than a strain to calf. I saw reid as he injured it he sprinted onto the ground from the bench and came straight off. He strained his calf. In a world of hurt reid

Greenwood- pulled up sore from training in the ankle he broke. He said they will see how he pulls up tomorrow before ruling him out, but said likely to miss another week at both levels

Goldsack- said that they want to get him 100% right for end of year and will likely miss 3 weeks. But will see how soon he settles

Freeman- still has nerve pain in hammy and he isn't right yet. Didn't give a time frame. So maybe a couple of weeks at least

Ramsey- had surgery on shin. Saw him on crutches and a moon boot at vfl. He is gone for the season

Maccaffer- Mayne vfl return 3 weeks

Abbott- hurt his shoulder in vfl game. Don't know how bad it is but may miss.

Shattering losing greenwood & reid they will make us much better. If both played against freo & Hawks we win both games

Thanks a lot for this. Very interesting.
The commentary of the vfl mentioned Abbott didn't look good with about 3 minutes to go.
If that's a serious shoulder that is really hurtful to our vfl chances with Still (that's his name ) still missing another month.

Reid's injury just highlights the importance of recruiting another tall, still believe we should chase Lynch from Gold Coast.

Indeed. Should've asked him he had dirt on the player's private lives. Laughing

Been very impressed with our fitness this year, and our injury profile is one of the best in the comp. Seems there are more than a few who owe this guy an apology. I'm pretty excited about the next 1-4 years, this year has a bit of an '07 feel to it.

As it turned out I was right on all fronts after my talk to Daveron.

Reid- strained calf
Greenwood- test
Goldsack- 2 to 3 weeks
Freeman- 3 to 4 weeks
Maccaffer- 3 to 4 weeks
Abbott- shoulder test
Ramsey- shin cooked for year

he is often on hand at vfl games and regularly talking to our medical guys.

Bummer about Ramsay.

He was so impressive this year.

Disappointing that another season for Freeman is looking like a bit of a bust.

Hopefully we can get him right for next year and finally open our Christmas present of a top 10 pick at AFL level.

Shame about Ramsay. He was the first player at the start of the season that caught my eye and the catalyst for how the club as improved on the field.
I guess we'll have to wait for freeman next year as well, he'll be guttered like reid and together they will get to know each other pretty well. One last chance surely for those two, unfortunately.
Greenwood is a lose for now but should be back sooner than later, but who really knows? It sounds like he may of hindered any progression that he made in rehab coming back early. we need him and in good form but with a limited fitness base I can't see him having any effect for the rest of the season.
But anyhoo we'll see how davaron has the rest of the men prepared for a tilt at the finals.
Thanks ttf

Agree with swoop and Simon....Rammo looked grouse this year in the seniors. He added mongrel and hardness to our backline. He looked like he could play AFL football as well.

Go the Pies!
