I think we should have an award each year for the worst umpiring decision of the year - I mean there is a hell of a lot to choose from; like a Melbourne cup field really. In the tradition of the 79 Grand Final (the Boundary Line), the 1980 night grand final (lets ignore the siren until they score), and the 2002 in the back to Tarrant paid to that thug Lynch. Perahps each week we could vote on the worst decision during the preceding game. Or ignore me to my own bitterness ...
So (with special mention to the Seedsman ball held to me, holding the ball call, and the Marley Williams holding the man by Pratentine) I nominate the 50 meter call in the third, when they couldn't get the ball out of their defence, and the Dockers player runs off the mark, and a fifty is paid against us for going over the mark. ffs he played on, he played on massive potential 12 point turn around ... still angry _________________ Dispatches from a foreign land |

I'll second that.
I agree with all those calls too. _________________ 'MADE IT LEGENDARY' |

Wasn't that Wakelin?
On the OP:
I disagree on the Seed free, dragged it in and has to then get rid of it. Was given lots of time and just throwing his arms out doesn't work.
On the 50, again it was there. Play on does not occur until the ump calls it regardless of what the player does.
We'd be filthy if we weren't accorded similar frees. |

Collingwood also got some really dodgy frees last night, especiially during the first half. Those decision makers qualify for the yellow muppet award as well. _________________ Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. It's only play on when the umpire calls it, not when the player on the mark thinks it. 50m penalty every day of the week.
Seedsman dragged it in, and that is what was penalised, not the fact that it was held to him. He made no attempt to get rid of the ball. HTB every day of the week. _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |

^ agreed, though I thought the 50 against Fas was harsh... more like penalising him because the umpire had not done his job in calling play on when he shoudl have. Technically correct, but judgement was required.
The Seedsman free was definitely there, given standard interpretations nowadays. Drag it in, or dive on it, and you need to get rid of it even if it's being held to you. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

Agree with that. White's free for dropping the mark was the wrong decision. _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |

Try the last 2 quarters! Lost count of the amount of holding, in the backs, and leggings, that were ignored. Many to Blair and Swan. Why? Because it rained? Any excuse to f*ck us. Dogs.
F*cken things they are... _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |
