We'll have to finish 9th several times and miss the finals 30 times in 33 years to become Richmond Laughing

The Tigers have stolen our interstate record over the last few years...

I think some of you missed my point.

I'm saying I don't buy into the "gallant defeat" and the we were nearly good enough type of talk. I was disappointed in the last 2 games because we put ourselves in a position to win both of them but failed.

i know we are building and we are certainly headed in the right direction and there are exciting times ahead. I just don't ever accept a loss when we give ourselves a chance like we did the last couple of weeks.

I know Bucks won't be.

No we aren't simple as that
Past 2 weeks showed me that we are close but a few mistakes cost us dearly.
We have the cattle in the paddock just need to fatten them up experience wise.
Our upside is huge. Think of who can't get a game or is out injured.
We all knew this year and next was about development and fine tuning game plans and improving skills.
I think we have done that quite well thus far but needs to continue
Richmond are a ageing side who are as consistent as yum Cha in a food court.
They are 3 injuries from being a bottom 4 side
Our depth is really starting to build. Wouldn't mind another couple KPP but they will come in time be it through draft or trade.
Our mids going forward will eat tiger stew for year to come. I can DeGoey, Crisp Adams forming a formidable nuculus for the next 10yrs.
Add Moore Scharenberg Freeman Maynard Grundy Witts Oxley Seedsman Williams Frost Langdon Kennedy Ramsay Seedman Elliott Gault all who are 25 or under and we have a stable list going forward.

Loser Richmond like talk. We should have won both games.

The difference is Richmond has been in rebuilding mode for the past 30 years!

Turn it up, the Tigers are like a 1973 Kingswood, kinda realiable but basically clapped out, we are like a new top of the line Aston Martin, in mint condition.

What a load of rubbish!!

You gotta be joking mate!!

Didn't you ever read Nick's last season towards the end?

It was far worse here than Richmond could ever be.... Evil or Very Mad

Fair is fair, when the team is down, it gets bloody feral here. Just that those particular posters never see the light of day away from their dark caves when the team is going well.
Lose next week and just wait for them to suddenly reappear....... Rolling Eyes

Big difference is that Richmond are perennially 'gallant in defeat' while being regarded as a team with a list profile that should be playing finals. We on the other hand, have gone from a team that everyone regarded at the opening round of the season as a side that would likely be in the bottom 5, to a team well entrenched in the top 8, pushing the best sides in the competition to the final siren. All during what many had written off as a development year.

Bucks and the coaching staff absolutely won't be accepting last weeks loss, as we could have won by 4-5 goals barring inaccuracy. Neither will the players. And that is why the Pies are nothing like Richmond.

Look at it from the other point of view. Clarkson has admitted that he hates Collingwood and he will do everything in his power with a team that has about 1000 games more experience than Collingwood, to beat us. The important thing is that when we eventually overtake Hawthorn in the next couple of years, we grind their noses into the dust and not let them beat us again. That is, learn from the past and use the losses over the last few years to spur us on into the future.
